About the Team
SevenRooms is a hospitality technology platform that powers restaurant operations and marketing, and was recently acquired by DoorDash! The SevenRooms product enables operators to automatically drive revenue & profitability by leveraging data to build direct relationships, deliver exceptional experiences, and increase repeat business. The SevenRooms “In-Store” Technology organization at DoorDash is committed to building products that help restaurants create magical experiences every day. We are a small, but rapidly growing team of 70+ engineers, scientists and builders who are on a mission to fundamentally transform the hospitality industry. Our tech stack includes Python, Typescript, ReactJS, Redux, Django, App Engine, Cloud Firestore, Memcache, Cloud Tasks, Firebase, BigQuery, Elasticsearch, and more.
About the Role
You will partner with Product Managers and Designers who are dedicated to engineering real solutions that empower our In-Store team’s growth. You will be joining an organization of engineering professionals working to fundamentally transform the hospitality industry through innovative technology solutions.
This role reports directly to an Engineering Manager.

- Develop, release and run large-scale web applications
- Develop and define the backend architecture and tech stack for a product area
- Improve performance, reliability, scalability and security for our backend systems
- Be involved in transitioning our monolithic codebase to a microservice-based architecture
- Completely disrupt the hospitality industry by tackling bleeding-edge, technical problems
We're excited about you because you have…
- BS, MS, or PhD. in Computer Science or related field
- Prior experience (3+ years industry experience) working with backend tech stacks
- Ability to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
- Experience with service oriented architecture, writing REST API’s, unit testing, and architectural design
- Understanding of modern web stacks and architecture (HTTP, REST)
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and other technologies (e.g. Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka)
- Strong product intuition
- Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback

- Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity

Compensation
The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants
