Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What you will be doing
You will lead, inspire and coach a broader team of functional leaders for a number of manufacturing plants or regional business. Accountable for ensuring that customer commitments are met in full, measured against agreed HSE, quality, cost, delivery, people and responsiveness standards.
You will be the first point of escalation for other Manufacturing Managers and will have full accountability for ensuring that agreed current and future customer quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements are met in their region. They will have authority to allocate resources across the plants in their region, with allocation of functional resource being agreed as required. They will be the single point of contact for the EVP with respect to the plants within their region.
The Manufacturing Executive will be involved in a broader role in looking at the long term strategy for their site, acting as an ambassador for RR in the local community. They will also be a key interface with Trade Union on site/in region/across sites and in managing employee relations.
Responsibilities
HSE - Accountable for defining & implementing the Zero Harm plan for the plant. Ensuring full compliance to health, safety and environmental standard
PRODUCT SAFETY - Accountable for ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with the required standard to ensure conformance to the engineering specification, and for promoting a product safety culture in the organisation
QUALITY - Design, influence and deploy the strategic plan for Zero Defects for the plant. Ensure cross-functional teams integrate to reduce Cost of Non Quality. Understands the technical and legislative elements associated with their area of responsibility and ensures compliance
COST - Creates and agrees the budget; Implements robust monitoring and controlling of the areas financials to ensure the budget is delivered
DELIVERY - Leads the planning and balancing of load and capacity to meet customer demands and achieve business strategy
PEOPLE - Ensure that plant leadership cross functional team members receive training, coaching and development in order to carry out their roles effectively. Ensure that robust people plans (succession, recruitment pipeline) are in place for key roles in the business
LEAN - Ensure that relevant Production System minimum standards are fully deployed and sustained within the business in support of performance objectives. Coach the cross functional team to continuously improve. Ensures the seeking and sharing of best practice internally and externally
LEAD - Inspire the manufacturing team to consistently deliver high levels of performance through facilitation, coaching and the demonstration of lean leadership behaviours. Motivate, delegate and empower team members to act and make their own decisions
BUSINESS - Ensure that robust business continuity plans are in place for all high risk/SPOF manufacturing resources. Optimises the performance of manufacturing assets in order to maximise facility productivity and meet current and future customer demand. Where applicable, accountability for site wide activities (e.g. Group property, purchasing, community related activities, etc.)
DIGITAL MANUFACTURING - Understand and lead the deployment and use of digital systems and processes to improve product cost, quality and performance. Be competent in the use of the tools to manage area and people performance and leads compliance to digital standards and processes. Ensures SCU & supply chain strategy aligns to RR digital manufacturing standards and strategy. Communicate to the leadership team using digital tools, and able to communicate digital strategy and use of innovative technology
MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING - Facilitates the development and operation of the manufacturing engineering processes (Capability Acquisition, Product Introduction & Continuous Improvement) to deliver conforming product

Held significant manufacturing roles - understanding/knowledge of multiple operational disciplines demonstrating breadth of experience - appreciation of product integrity
Has a proven track record delivering improved operational performance in both favourable and unfavourable conditions; utilising cross-functional teams
Has experience of deploying continuous improvement methodologies such as lean and six sigma (Green Belt accreditation)
Management experience in a high technology engineering industry is ideal, but not essential
Attended higher education and leadership development programmes - committed to continuing professional development
