THE OPPORTUNITY 

We are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer - Data Platforms to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Monitor & Maintain: Oversee data pipelines and cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability.  
• Proactive Issue Detection: Implement monitoring and logging solutions to detect and minimize ETL failures and service disruptions.
•  Reactive Support & Troubleshooting: Provide production support, validate data integrity, and resolve technical issues within SLA commitments. 
• Collaboration & Incident Management: Work closely with data engineering and incident response teams for seamless issue resolution.
• Incident Analysis & Proactive Problem Management: Perform post-mortem analysis, document troubleshooting best practices, and improve knowledge-sharing processes. 
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain Python and Shell scripts to automate operational workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve system reliability. 
• Cloud Optimization & Scaling: Optimize and scale cloud-based data platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring cost efficiency, high availability, and improved system performance. 
• Work on a 24/7 support roster, ensuring continuous availability for business-critical operations.

REQUIREMENTS 

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.  
• 3 –4 years of experience in production support, platform reliability preferably in a Data Centric environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a passion for improving reliability and automation. 

• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure operational environments, balancing incident responses with long-term reliability improvements. 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working across engineering, operations, and support teams.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Shell scripting, and Python.
• Hands-on experience with ELT/ETL processes, Apache Airflow, Informatica is a plus. 
• Experience with cloud-based data technologies, including AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Glue, Redshift, Athena, EMR, DynamoDB) & GCP ( BigQuery , Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage, DataStreams ) 
• Experience monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines and cloud infrastructure within GCP environments is highly desirable. 
• Knowledge of DevOps & DataOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Monitoring & observability tools (Datadog), Experience in Containerization (Docker , Kubernetes)
• Experience in network infrastructure and system administration on Windows Server and UNIX/Linux environments.
