As a Senior Manager of Product Specialists at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a team of 6 people covering UK, IE and Nordics. You will guide business growth, meet revenue targets, and ensure customer satisfaction through the expansion of rapid NGS solutions into Oncology, Reproductive Health and custom solutions. Working in a collaborative matrix environment, you will partner with sales, marketing, product management, and other cross-functional teams to implement commercial strategies and develop market opportunities.
Your leadership will be essential in developing and retaining talent, creating a culture of excellence, and ensuring your team delivers exceptional customer value. You will use data-driven insights to enhance sales processes, maintain robust forecasting, and adapt strategies to meet evolving market demands. A Day in the Life:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Specialists across multiple regions to achieve commercial objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive market expansion and execute business strategies. Monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and adjust tactics to ensure consistent growth. Build strong customer relationships and support key accounts while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
What to expect:
- Provide leadership and direction to a regional team across UK, Ireland, and Nordics
- Drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets through strategic execution
- Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams in a matrix environment
- Utilize data and analytics to improve forecasting and sales processes
- Support expansion of rapid NGS solutions across key application areas
- Travel up to 50% as required
Keys to Success:
Education
- Masters Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or related scientific field
Experience
- 12+ years of progressive commercial experience in life sciences, analytical instruments, or related industry
- 3+ years of people management experience leading teams in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and guiding business growth
- Experience implementing commercial strategies and tactical business plans
- Experience with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and sales operations processes
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Deep understanding of scientific workflows, applications, and customer needs in relevant markets
- Strong strategic planning and business acumen with ability to analyze market trends
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage at all levels
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Technical expertise in relevant product portfolios and applications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and business intelligence tools
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment
- Solution-focused with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
