Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, Member Growth, Channels, this engineer will enhance and scale the backend systems powering the features that improve how members discover and engage with care. This role is part of the Member Growth team and is instrumental in delivering intuitive, reliable user experiences at scale.

Please note that this is a hybrid role based in New York City with an expectation to be in office 2-3 days a week. Our office is located at 60 Madison Avenue.

What you’ll do:

Design and build scalable backend services using Ruby on Rails, Python, GraphQL, SQL
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features that improve member growth
Expand and maintain existing member growth infrastructure
Debug and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
Contribute to architectural discussions, code reviews, and tech debt prioritization
Advocate for high engineering standards, including test coverage, documentation, and observability
Participate in an on-call rotation to support system reliability and respond to production issues
Collaborate flexibly across time zones, as needed, to support distributed teams and stakeholder
Build and maintain integrations with data warehouses or external APIs
Troubleshoot data discrepancies and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues

Partner effectively with product, design, data, or other teams, contributing meaningfully to team goals and alignment

Contribute to improved team velocity through planning, estimation, and delivery best practices
Continuously seek out new technologies or practices to improve engineering outcomes

What you’ll bring:

3-5 years of experience in software development with a focus on backend development
Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, C#, or equivalent
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
