About the Team
The Growth team drives user and revenue growth across OpenAI’s products globally, spanning both consumer and business segments. We operate across the full funnel—from awareness and acquisition through activation, retention, and monetization—connecting out-of-product and in-product experiences into seamless, compounding growth loops.
We focus on building scalable, programmatic growth systems that unlock durable impact. This includes rapid experimentation, rigorous measurement, and deep cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, data science, finance, and marketing. We prioritize high-signal opportunities, move quickly, and hold a high bar for ROI, user value, and long-term leverage.
We accelerate growth by connecting out-of-product and in-product experiences into seamless journeys that acquire, retain, and re-engage users, unlocking our product’s transformative potential in users’ daily lives. We work cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, data science, finance, and marketing to unlock scalable growth levers and deliver measurable impact across diverse markets.
This team thrives on rapid testing, rigorous measurement, and creative problem solving, all while keeping user value at the center of our decision-making.
About the Role
We are looking for a growth athlete to drive business strategy, operations, and high-impact special projects across the Growth organization.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution—you will identify and size opportunities, drive alignment across stakeholders, and operationalize initiatives into scalable systems with measurable impact. You will be expected to balance speed and rigor, navigating ambiguity while maintaining a strong focus on ROI and long-term leverage.
This role is based in San Francisco or New York. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you will:
Own end-to-end growth initiatives: from problem definition and hypothesis generation through execution, measurement, and iteration
Drive programmatic scale: translate one-off wins into repeatable systems across channels, geos, and user segments
Lead with data and judgment: build clear ROI frameworks, define success metrics, and make trade-offs across competing priorities
Operate across the full funnel: with exposure to both organic and paid levers, and a deep understanding of user journeys and conversion dynamics
Partner cross-functionally: work closely with product, engineering, data science, design, and finance to ship high-quality, scalable solutions
Tackle whitespace opportunities: identify and incubate new growth surfaces, 0→1 bets, and strategic initiatives that unlock step-function growth
This is a highly dynamic role that requires someone who is nimble, adaptable, and comfortable operating in both structured and ambiguous environments.
You might thrive in this role if you are/have:
8+ years of experience in bizops, growth, product management, product strategy & operations, or technical operator experience at a scaled startup or growth-stage company.
Proven ability to launch, scale, and optimize organic and paid growth channels at significant scale.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency with measurement tools (Google Analytics, internal BI tools, experimentation platforms).
Experience with AI-driven analytical tools, creative ops engineering, and workflow automation.
Familiarity with engineering concepts and ability to work with technical teams to ship growth and martech infrastructure.
Able to move fluidly between strategy, execution, and operations
Comfortable balancing short-term impact vs. long-term system building
Skilled at narrative framing and stakeholder alignment, especially across technical and non-technical partners
Biased toward action, but grounded in rigor
