What you'll do

The Staff Engineer ensures continuous effectiveness of AI safety controls through automation, telemetry, and CI/CD safety gates. Acts as a bridge between product implementations and platform enforcement.

Business Context & Risk Surface

Operates across multiple product teams to detect regressions and ensure consistent safety posture. Addresses classifier drift, threshold creep, and adversarial probing risks.

Scope, Ownership & Decision Authority

Owns automation frameworks, replay systems, and safety test harnesses. Influences product safety tests and can mandate additional controls for high-risk launches.

AI Security & Safety Responsibilities

• Implement CI/CD safety gates and regression testing for hallucination and jailbreak detection
• Build replay frameworks for incident reproduction and model improvement
• Design alerting and escalation for misuse trends

Platform / Engineering Responsibilities

• Integrate automated tests into AI pipelines
• Ensure reproducible environments
• Maintain adversarial datasets and RAG poisoning test corpora

Governance & Compliance

• Generate audit evidence and dashboards
• Maintain logs for policy and test executions
• Lead implementation of AI Governance frameworks and Responsible AI principles across platforms.
• Translate regulatory standards (NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act) into enforceable engineering controls.
• Implement policy-as-code for governance, fairness, accountability, and transparency.
• Ensure auditability, compliance, and ethical AI deployment at scale.

What you'll bring

• 10–15 years' experience in software/security/AI engineering
• Experience with AI/LLM safety testing and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong telemetry and observability background
• Experience with replay frameworks and red-teaming integration
• Ability to design safeguards for large-scale AI systems
• Experience addressing hallucinations, misuse, adversarial risks
• Ability to translate AI regulations into engineering solutions

Minimum Qualifications...
