Job Description

About the Team
Join our Portal Experience team as we build the next generation of personalized, self-service marketing experiences for Amazon's advertising platforms. We're transforming how 2 million daily advertisers interact with Seller Central, Amazon Ads Console, and other key portals through innovative solutions that deliver consistent, data-driven customer experiences at scale.

You'll be joining a growing 2-pizza team with experienced engineers who have deep knowledge of our tech stack. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-impact projects that directly affect millions of users while developing your skills in distributed systems, APIs, and large-scale web applications.

What You'll Do
As a Sr. Software Development Engineer on the Portal Experience team, architect high-throughput systems serving millions of daily advertisers across Amazon's marketing portals. You'll navigate complex 1P/3P integrations, drive technical strategy, and influence partner teams on ambitious initiatives. Leading through ambiguity, you'll shape the roadmap, mentor engineers, and make architectural decisions that balance immediate delivery with long-term vision—owning the full lifecycle from design through operations for this critical business function.

Key job responsibilities
Own and architect critical systems at scale. You'll serve as a technical leader for services that power personalized marketing experiences for millions of daily advertisers across Seller Central, Amazon Ads Console, and other key portals. You'll design and build high-throughput, low-latency solutions that integrate both first-party and third-party services, making architectural decisions that balance performance, reliability, and business value.

Navigate complex technical and organizational landscapes. You'll work across a sophisticated tech stack involving both 1P Amazon services and 3P integrations (CMS platforms, targeting systems, data orchestration tools) to deliver a critical business function. You'll evaluate technical trade-offs, drive system design discussions, and ensure our architecture can scale to meet the demands of millions of daily users while maintaining operational excellence.

Drive technical strategy and influence partner teams. You'll help shape the team's roadmap by identifying technical opportunities, proposing innovative solutions, and building consensus across multiple stakeholders. You'll partner with internal platform teams, product managers, and marketing stakeholders to align on ambitious initiatives. Your technical leadership will influence architectural decisions beyond your immediate team.

Lead through ambiguity and deliver results. You'll tackle complex problems where requirements evolve and solutions aren't obvious, breaking down ambiguous challenges into actionable technical plans. You'll mentor engineers, establish engineering best practices, and ensure the team delivers high-quality, maintainable code. You'll own the full lifecycle from design through deployment and operations, driving excellence in system stability, performance, and flexibility.

Build for the future while delivering today. You'll make strategic technical decisions that balance short-term delivery needs with long-term architectural vision. You'll work with distributed systems, APIs, and large-scale web applications, continuously improving our platform's capabilities while maintaining the reliability that our advertising customers depend on.
