The Opportunity
You’ll lead a team building the core experiences that members rely on every day to understand and control their financial lives. This work sits at the intersection of product, infrastructure, and member trust.
You’ll shape both the systems and the team behind them — setting direction, improving how we build, and ensuring we deliver work that holds up over time. You won’t just manage execution; you’ll help define what good looks like across engineering, product, and member experience.
What You’ll Build and Own
Lead and develop a team of engineers, supporting their growth while building a strong, inclusive, and accountable team culture
Partner with Product and cross-functional stakeholders to define roadmap, priorities, and long-term direction for account management experiences
Drive delivery of scalable, reliable systems that support millions of member interactions across Dave’s products
Contribute to architectural decisions alongside senior engineers, balancing speed with long-term system health
Improve engineering practices across the team, including code quality, testing, and thoughtful management of technical debt
Establish clear context for the team — connecting day-to-day work to member impact and broader company goals
The Impact

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Technical Foundation
6+ years of software development experience
1.5+ years of engineering management experience
Experience building and operating scalable, highly available systems
Strong technical judgment with the ability to engage in architecture and code-level discussions
Experience hiring and developing high-performing, diverse teams
Ability to navigate both technical and business conversations with clarity
Bonus
Experience in fintech or regulated environments
Experience with mobile development
Familiarity with: Typescript (Node.js), React/React Native, GraphQL, MySQL, GCP
