Job Description

As a Team Leader, Distribution at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll help achieve excellence in warehouse operations while contributing to global scientific advancement. Leading a team in our facilities, you'll ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant handling of vital materials that enable our customers to make breakthrough discoveries. This role combines operational leadership with process improvement to maintain our high standards of safety, quality, and service excellence.

You'll coordinate daily warehouse activities, develop teams, and optimize processes through Lean methodologies and our Practical Process Improvement (PPI) framework. You'll collaborate across functions to ensure seamless operations while maintaining strict compliance with cGMP, safety regulations, and quality standards. This position offers opportunities to enhance supply chain operations while contributing to Thermo Fisher's mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • To lead the warehouse operation team to achieve the company goals and objectives.
  • To supervise, check and ensure that the staffs are working in accordance with quality standard and Standard Operation Procedure.
  • To achieve operation excellence by continuously improving on operation quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • To generate monthly performance KPI for warehouse operation.
  • To ensure that all personnel are adequately trained and carry out people development to meet the challenges brought over by rapid business growth.
  • To ensure sufficient capacity and resources to support daily activities as well as comoanv arowth.
  • To closely work with client service team to ensure high customer satisfaction by providing excellent operation, work out the plan to meet additional business requirement from clients.
  • To work closely and support procurement department to formulate and meeting purchasing needs.
  • To work with the Finance department in responsibility for warehouse operation costs and reporting.
  • To support QA department on the preparation and smooth conduct of internal and external audits. Also, leading warehousing related PR with QA.
  • To work closely with global IT department to ensure systems in compliance.
  • To support BD and sales activities by actively involvement in the business introduction and providing viable business/operation solutions.
  • To work with counterparts in the global environment to ensure the global requirements are implemented accordingly and sufficient communication are carried out.
  • To oversee day to day warehouse operation team to ensure all processes are compliant to quality and SOP standard.
  • Timely provision of reports and other information to clients and internal team.
  • Review warehouse operation expense claims and overtime to ensure they are accurate.
  • Distribution related vendor management (freight, shipper provider, template)
  • Work with HR Manager to ensure employees over time are within guidelines and to identify potential calibre within the department and put together training and career progression plan.
  • Has no authority in making any financial decision.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or above in management/supply chain/engineering or other relevant disciplines.
  • Years of Experience: >7 years relevant work experiences gained in logistics operation including warehousing, transportation, inventory control, purchasing, services and project management. Experience in facility management and import/export will be an advantage. Minimum 5 years'
  • Experience in taking a management/supervisory role and feel comfortable working in a global environment.
  • Knowledge: Warehouse Management, Lean Management, Supply Chain Management
  • Competency: Leadership, Conflict Management Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Organizational Development ability.
  • 4 - 5 yrs or above of working experience.
  • Good command of English.
