Job Description

YOUR MISSION

As Head of Labour & Employee Relations, you will hold a critical legal leadership role responsible for defining and executing the labour relations and legal compliance strategy across the company, with a strong focus on Spain, our largest employee base.

This is a senior legal role, not an HR or People Operations position. You will act as the legal owner of labour relations, collective negotiations, union engagement, and labour inspections, while leading a small, specialized team.

You will operate at the intersection of law, business and labour relations, ensuring legal integrity while enabling the company to operate responsibly in a complex regulatory environment.

THE JOURNEY

This role is a critical position responsible for defining and executing the labor relations and legal compliance strategy across the company, with a crucial focus on our largest employee base in Spain. You will lead a small team to ensure legal integrity and foster positive labor relations.

  • Lead and develop a team of 3 People Advisors, setting clear responsibilities, performance expectations and supporting their professional growth.
  • Define, implement and ensure compliance with Spanish labour regulations and relevant international employment frameworks.
  • Act as the primary legal point of contact for labour law matters for the People team, managers and external legal counsel.
  • Draft and negotiate operating rules, contract proposals and counter-proposals in collective bargaining and labour negotiations.
  • Interpret and apply Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), employment contracts and wage regulations.
  • Own the company’s disciplinary framework, ensuring alignment with Spanish labour law.
  • Provide technical legal guidance on labour inspections, including interaction with the Spanish Labour Inspectorate.
  • Lead and manage collective labour relations, including grievances, conflicts, negotiations and union interactions.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on complex labour matters using applicable regulations, CBAs and disciplinary regimes.
  • Design and deliver labour law training for managers and People teams.
  • Ensure legally robust implementation of hiring, disciplinary procedures, dismissals and compensation frameworks.
  • Lead investigations, recommendations and corrective actions within disciplinary processes.
  • Establish and maintain constructive relationships with Workers’ Representatives and Works Committees.
  • Translate business strategy into legally sound labour and people strategies.
  • Continuously improve labour policies, controls and programs in line with regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, People and other stakeholders in a high-trust, high-impact environment.
