Job Description

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

About This Role:

As the Senior Applications Electrical Engineer, you'll be the primary technical interface between our estimating team, our customers, and our Engineering/Manufacturing teams. This role is focused on the initial project phase, primarily defining the scope of work, generating preliminary electrical and mechanical designs, and supporting the estimating process for custom power, control, and modular building products. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience and has a solid understanding of the NEC and low and medium voltage power distribution systems in a manufacturing or project environment. (#INDMFG)

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Customer Scope Definition: Directly engage with customers and the estimating team to define the electrical scope of work and translate client requirements into clear, concise technical specifications for custom equipment.

  • Estimating Support: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and technical proposals, ensuring alignment with customer scope and manufacturing capabilities.

  • Preliminary Design Deliverables: Create initial electrical design documents for proposals and project handoff, including one-line diagrams, preliminary control schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs).

  • Material Accuracy Confirmation: Confirm the accuracy of project materials quoted to customers, including the review of vendor bid packages and submittals for technical accuracy and cost-effectiveness.

  • Electrical Calculations and Component Sizing: Perform preliminary branch circuit and feeder calculations on power distribution equipment, as well as specifying and sizing appropriate electrical components per applicable codes.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate a seamless transition from the proposal/submittal stage to the design engineering phase by collaborating closely with the Estimating, Project Management, and Design Engineering teams.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project environment with 2+ years of experience in applications, project estimating, or sales.

  • Power Distribution Systems Knowledge: Solid knowledge of low voltage and medium voltage power distribution systems and control panels.

  • Schematic and Diagram Interpretation: Ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
