Job Summary
As a team member of the Global Controllership Operations team of Comcast Connectivity & Platforms, this role will be responsible for managing the Accounting department, offering technical guidance and overseeing administrative tasks. Responsibilities include analyzing financial statements, providing expertise in general ledger activities, developing procedures to enhance efficiency and meet budgetary targets.Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Managing and coordinating the activities of Accounting staff to ensure efficient department operations
- Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis in compliance with GAAP
- Developing procedures to adapt to operational changes and policy updates within the department
- Research ways of streamlining and standardizing processes to support the Accounting function.
- Evaluate current practices, models, and recurring tasks for potential automation using advanced Excel and other technical skills (Macros, Visual Basic, etc.).
- Overseeing internal and external audit inquiries, managing audit processes to maintain financial integrity
- Enforcing corporate policies regarding internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, guiding Accountants on necessary adjustments and entries
- Providing subject matter expertise and guidance to employees, developing performance standards for the team
- Adapting departmental plans to address resource and operational challenges, implementing functional strategies
- Developing, mentoring, and training Accounting team members
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
