Position Summary:
The selected intern will assist in driving retention and patient satisfaction initiatives as part of the Fresenius Medical Care Home Therapy Product Management team. The role will report to the Director of Product Management, Home Therapies Connected Health. The intern will work collaboratively with several cross-functional departments including Global Medical Office, Information Technology Solutions, Home Digital Value Stream, and other members of the Home Therapies Connected Health Product Management as part of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in establishing role specific empathetic AI personas to improve 90-day Home HD and PD patient retention
- Assist in systematic gathering and organizing the data sources to support GenAI personas development for personalized education, troubleshooting machine alarms, and help with logistics/care coordination use cases
- Support feature development from diverse data sets and KB repositories to advance the Agentic AI solutions
- Help with testing and validating the Agentic AI solutions at various stages of its evolution
- Develop and execute test cases to assess and improve Agentic AI persona’s responses (to end user and SME queries) for Completeness, Correctness, Consistency, and Clarity
- Provide support to Global Medical Office, Home Digital Value Stream, and Information Technology Solution teams
Education & Qualifications:
- Candidate for Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related technical field.
- A background or strong interest in Cognitive Science/Psychology, given the empathetic persona development focus.
- LLM Fundamentals: Solid understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Programming: Proficiency in Python (specifically libraries like Pandas, NumPy, or frameworks like LangChain / LlamaIndex / LangGraph).
- Data Management: Experience organizing unstructured data and working with Knowledge Bases or Vector DBs. (ChromaDB, FAISS, etc)
- QA: Familiarity with software testing methodologies; experience testing AI outputs for bias or hallucination is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct self-driven research, and eagerness to learn new tools and methods quickly
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS or other cloud platforms, at least familiarity is needed
- Entry level knowledge of Dialysis industry helpful, but not required
- Energetic, curious, learner/growth/problem solver mindset, positive attitude, and enjoys working in teams
