We are seeking a Staff Network & Systems Operations Engineer to design, operate, and support our hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure. This role spans both network engineering and systems engineering, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our environments.

We are seeking an individual with an insatiable thirst for technology and a desire to learn, grow, and contribute both individually and as part of the team and the business. Our ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for architecting, designing, documenting, and implementing comprehensive platform solutions using industry best practices.

Your Area of Focus

  • Manage routing, switching, firewall policies, load balancing, segmentation, VPN, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Administer and support Windows Server, Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.
  • Support VMware virtualization and Dell server hardware.
  • Manage SAN platforms, including PureStorage and TrueNAS.
  • Oversee data center infrastructure, including LAN/SAN/WAN switches, PDU management, cabling, hardware installations, and remote hands.
  • Develop scripts to automate provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using PowerShell and Python.
  • Terraform/Ansible knowledge is a plus.
  • Monitor infrastructure, respond to alerts, troubleshoot incidents, and participate in on‑call rotation.
  • Collaborate with InfoSec, DevOps, IT, and Engineering on secure, reliable infrastructure design.

Your Professional Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in network and systems engineering roles.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, Windows Server, AD, LDAP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization and SAN storage (PureStorage, TrueNAS).
  • Experience with GCP and/or AWS cloud environments.
  • Proficient scripting skills: PowerShell, Python.
  • Strong understanding of data center networking, authentication services, and HA/DR patterns.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Travel Requirements

  • Irvine Proximity: This role requires residency within a 30-minute commute of our Irvine, CA facility to provide rapid, hands-on response for critical infrastructure and data center needs.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in a predictable on-call rotation (currently 1 week every 1–2 weeks) to serve as a high-level escalation point for critical network and systems incidents.
  • Regional Travel: Ability to travel to our Las Vegas data center (approximately 10–20%) as needed for infrastructure projects and hardware deployments.
