Position Location Policy

  • General Location: Open to candidates within the United States.

  • Hybrid Requirement (if within specific cities): If the selected candidate resides in Cleveland, OH, Buffalo, NY, or Albany, NY, they are expected to work on-site 2 days per week at the nearest KeyBank non-branch location.

  • Remote Option: If the selected candidate lives outside of KeyBank’s geographic footprint, the position will be considered fully remote. Available to those residing in the United States.

  • Hours: 8-5pm EST/CST

The Sr Product Manager, Partnership Lead, part of Key Commercial Bank, is primarily responsible for all aspects of the product experience. Responsible for leading and driving the strategic direction to create a best in class product set for the Commercial Bank.  The Sr Product Manager role also influences both internal and external stakeholders, providing business development support, leads strategic projects, and has ownership of the P&L.  Key is focused on sound profitable growth requiring knowledge of risk mitigation processes inherent within our product set and being mindful of macro environment drivers that may impact our go to market strategy. 

The role is responsible for:

  • Ability to deliver product training to deepen KeyBank’s sales teams’ overall product knowledge
  • Working with KeyBank partners including third-party contacts, Fiserv, Elavon, and internal KeyBank teams to help use product evangelism to drive new merchant acquiring revenue
  • External customer interaction on an as needed basis to help sales deliver solution demos

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Key Deliverables:

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of gateways, CNP payment software, and 3rd party product platforms & configuration required
  • Provide feedback to the Integrated Payments team and relevant management on merchant sales team regarding commercialization, marketing, and training efforts
  • Demonstrate excellent technical, relationship building and sales skills, working with internal team, merchants, and outside partners to ensure an optimum understanding of the third-party solutions KeyBank provides
  • Provide up to date and accurate reporting of product sales, commercialization, and marketing efforts

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of payments experience in Merchant Acquiring Payments Industry. Deep understanding of merchant acquiring space (various emerging technologies, gateways, POS). Prior sales experience in payment software solutions preferred

Skills

  • Solid Technical background in Payments technology – Ability to understand, advise sales teams and clients on payment technology and oversee/guide through integration work with 3rd party platforms (like gateways, payment platforms)
  • Collaboration with Internal Sales Teams and Stakeholders – ability to deliver custom commercialization, marketing, and training across all KeyBank segments. 
  • Understanding of APIs and Integrating software platforms - Expertise in integrating multiple Apps/ technologies on a platform - e.g. API based integration, Gateway -> Platform Integration, ISV -> payment integration; Experience working with payment processors including Fiserv, Elavon, TSYS, etc.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset. 
  • Ability to identify business opportunities, develop a strategic plan to capitalize on those opportunities, and tactically implement the plan.
    Direct product P/L responsibility.
  • Understanding of Commercial Banking Core Treasury products and segment needs through demonstrated portfolio management experience.
  • Must be able to create and conduct executive level presentations, present at industry venues, and interface with the media and clients as appropriate.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to forecast. 
  • Excellent problem solving and quantitative skills.  
  • A team player with proven ability to build strong collaborative relationships with internal partners including finance, technology, operations, sales, marketing, legal, compliance, and other internal and external partners including vendors.
  • An ability to champion change, influence others, and foster teamwork.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • High energy, passionate about payments technology, fantastic listening skills
  • Payments and expertise – great understanding of gateways and integration process with a payment processor
  • Project management – specifically solution commercialization, marketing, and training  
  • Demonstrated communication- Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data query and reporting knowledge.

Physical Demands

  • General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $128,000.00 - $268,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
