Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott is a global healthcare leader dedicated to helping people live more fully at all stages of life. Within Abbott, the Electrophysiology (EP) division is at the forefront of diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders, partnering closely with hospitals and clinicians to deliver innovative, life‑changing technologies.

As part of Abbott EP, you will work in a highly specialized, international environment where technology, clinical expertise and patient impact come together every day.

What You’ll Do

As a Field Technical Engineer, you will provide hands‑on technical and clinical support to customers using Abbott’s EP solutions, working closely with hospitals and internal teams to ensure safe, effective and high‑quality procedures.

  • Provide on‑site technical support to physicians and nurses during EP procedures in cath lab environments

  • Prepare, set up and support Abbott systems and disposable products before and during procedures

  • Act as a technical expert in the room, supporting troubleshooting and ensuring optimal system performance

  • Build strong, professional relationships with hospital staff by being reliable, adaptable and solution‑oriented

  • Support installations, product introductions and customer training in collaboration with Sales and Clinical teams

  • Maintain accurate documentation of visits, cases and relevant customer information in Abbott systems

  • Continuously develop your technical and clinical knowledge through Abbott’s structured training programs

  • Travel extensively across Sweden, with additional support to the Nordic region when required

What You’ll Bring

  • Technical, biomedical, engineering or clinical background, or equivalent hands‑on experience

  • Strong interest in medical technology and working in a clinical, patient‑focused environment

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Sweden and occasionally the Nordics

  • Based in or around Stockholm, or willing to relocate

  • Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams

  • Good communication skills in English (spoken and written); Swedish is a plus but not essential

  • Curiosity, learning agility and motivation to develop EP knowledge (prior EP experience is desirable but not required)

  • A structured, quality‑minded approach and comfort working in regulated environments

What Can We Offer You?

You will benefit from excellent primary and secondary benefits, a positive working atmosphere, a personal growth plan, extensive training opportunities, and strong career development prospects.
