Job Description

Our Mission:

Our mission is to multiply what matters:  growth, retention, and efficiency.  We envision a future where companies, teams and people reach their full potential.

Our People:

People are the heart and soul of 6sense. We serve with passion and purpose. We live by our Being 6sense values of Win as One Team, Stay Curious, Do The Right Thing, Own the Outcome, and Create Belonging.  Every 6sensor plays a part in defining the future of our industry-leading technology.  6sense is a place where difference-makers roll up their sleeves, take risks, act with integrity, and measure success by the value we create for our customers.  We want 6sense to be the best chapter of your career.

About the Role :

At 6sense, data powers our AI‑first products. We’re looking for a Software Engineer III - Data who builds scalable data pipelines and uses AI tools (prompting + vibe coding) as a daily productivity multiplier.

This is not an ML research role. AI here means using LLMs effectively to build faster and better data systems.

What You’ll Do :

  • Write production‑grade code in Java and/or Python.
  • Design and optimize high‑performance SQL on large datasets.
  • Work with Spark, Hive, Presto, Kafka, or similar technologies

AI‑Enabled Engineering (Required)

  • Use AI coding tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) for:
  1. Writing/refactoring pipeline code
  2. SQL generation and optimization
  3. Debugging data and performance issues
  4. Understanding schemas, logs, and legacy code
  • Demonstrate strong prompting skills to guide LLMs effectively.
  • Practice vibe coding responsibly—move fast, but validate correctness, performance, and security.

Collaboration & Platform :

  • Build data consumed by analytics and AI‑powered product features.
  • Partner with Data Science, Backend, and Platform teams.
  • Work on AWS‑based data infrastructure (S3, EMR, Redshift, EC2).

What We’re Looking For :

  • 4–7 years of data engineering experience.
  • Strong skills in Python and SQL.
  • Hands‑on experience with big‑data systems (Spark/Hive/Presto/Kafka).
  • Practical, real‑world use of AI tools for engineering productivity.

Nice to Have :

  • NoSQL / MPP databases
  • Docker / Kubernetes
  • Experience supporting AI‑ or LLM‑powered features

One Line Summary on Skills :

  • Python + SQL + Spark/Hive/Presto/Kafka + AWS + AI coding tools (prompting & vibe coding).

Our Benefits:

Full-time employees can take advantage of health coverage, paid parental leave, generous paid time-off and holidays, quarterly self-care days off, and stock options. We’ll make sure you have the equipment and support you need to work and connect with your teams, at home or in one of our offices.

We have a growth mindset culture that is represented in all that we do, from onboarding through to numerous learning and development initiatives including access
