Senior Product Designer, Consumer

Reddit is continuing to grow our teams with the best talent. This role is completely remote-friendly. 

Reddit is a special corner of the internet. Keeping it that way as we scale requires a specific kind of designer. We are not looking for someone to just wait for a ticket or push pixels across a screen. We need a force multiplier: someone who can take a messy, vague business goal and turn it into a concrete product strategy that serves hundreds of millions of people.

You will lead cross-functional squads with a mix of high-level strategic thinking and elite technical craft. This role sits at the heart of our Consumer UX team, where you will be a co-architect of the product roadmap, not a service provider. You will thrive here if you are a builder at heart. You believe the best way to prove an idea is to actually build it. This is why you are comfortable using AI coding tools like Cursor to create functional prototypes that feel real and use real data.

The Two Paths

Depending on your background and where you want to make an impact, you will focus on one of two critical areas:

1. Growth: You will define the mechanics of how users discover and engage with Reddit, focusing on top-of-funnel acquisition, conversion to our apps, and long-term retention.
2. Youth and Compliance: You will design the vital guardrails that keep teens safe, ensuring Reddit meets global privacy and safety regulations, while crafting tailored experiences for different users that feel like Reddit.

What you'll do:

• Navigate the Fog: You will take ambiguous problems and transform them into clear project scopes and design strategies.
• Prototype to De-risk: You will use tools like Cursor to bridge the gap between "what if" and "here is how it works," testing complex edge cases before they ever hit production.
• Tell the Story: You will synthesize complex data and user behaviors into high-fidelity narratives that win over our executive leadership.
• Move the Needle: You will operate in a high-velocity environment defined by rapid-fire A/B testing and rapid iteration.
• Set the Standard: Your Figma files are pristine, your interactions are thoughtful, and your work serves as a benchmark for the entire design organization.

What we're looking for:

• The Experience: You have 5+ years of product design experience, ideally in high-scale consumer tech, safety, or growth-driven environments.
• The Technical Edge: You are not just implementation-aware; you are proficient in prototyping via code because you want to see how your designs behave with real data.
• The Strategic Mind: You can reframe messy legal or business asks into coherent, human-centered systems and influence roadmap priorities.
