The North Carolina Department of Revenue is recruiting for a Mailroom Associate in our Submissions Processing Division (SPD). The primary purpose of this position is to extract incoming mail, sort accordingly and forward to the appropriate areas within NCDOR.
Duties include but are not limited to opening mail with the aid of an auto extractor, rapid extractor desk (REDS) or by hand, as necessary. Pushing mail carts weighing up to 500 pounds on a regular basis. Work hours for this position range from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

  • Experience with manually opening mail, sorting correspondence, and other functions associated with the Extract and Sort

  • Possess good word processing skills including experience with Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others on a natural work team

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds, stand or sit for long periods of time, and be able to work with little or no supervision

Recruitment Range: $31,200.00 - $39,000.00
