What You’ll Be Doing

As a Network Automation Engineer on our team, you will act as a high-level technical scout, bridging the gap between traditional network operations and advanced network automation. Your primary responsibility is to proactively monitor the network landscape by reviewing NMC tickets, alarm data, and existing automation frameworks across multiple network vendor stacks to identify trends and surface new opportunities for innovation.

You will dive deep into various backend systems to evaluate workflow performance and determine business impact, effectively synthesizing complex data points into actionable, programmatic strategies. By leveraging modern AI coding tools, you will rapidly prototype and deploy robust network utilities. By staying in constant synchronization with our US-based team, you will ensure that every line of code and every automated solution directly supports our global operational needs and improves the overall health of the network.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a Network Automation Engineer who possesses a true "automation mindset"—someone who instinctively looks at a manual, repetitive network configuration process and can visualize a programmatic solution. You should be a detail-oriented analyst who pairs strong routing and switching knowledge with a modern software developer's toolkit.

This role requires a unique blend of independent investigative skills and a collaborative spirit, as you will be expected to drive projects forward on your own while remaining perfectly in sync with a distributed global team. Whether you are refactoring an existing script to support a new network stack or using AI to build a new dashboard from scratch, your focus should always be on scalability, clarity, and efficiency.

You’ll Need to Have

  • Education/Experience: A Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of equivalent work experience in software development and network engineering.

  • Python Expertise: Strong, hands-on Python coding experience specifically focused on network automation across diverse network stacks. You should be comfortable with APIs (RESTCONF/NETCONF) and modern automation libraries (e.g., Netmiko, Nornir, NAPALM, Requests).

  • Network Foundation: Solid understanding of networking principles with knowledge and skills equivalent to a CCNA or CCNP level.

  • AI-Driven Development: Proven ability to leverage Generative AI tools and coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate code generation, debug scripts, and rapidly prototype custom network tools.

  • Data Analysis: Proven ability to identify trends and extract insights from complex, high-volume datasets.

  • System Agility: Ability to quickly gain proficiency in internal ticketing and notification systems (e.g., vRepair, Remedy, UTP, and Echo).

  • Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work a schedule that includes overlap with US day shifts for weekly staff meetings and initial training.

Even Better if You Have

  • Industry Certifications: Active CCNA, CCNP, or Cisco DevNet (Associate/Professional) certifications.

  • Multi-Vendor Experience: Deep understanding of and automation experience with multiple network architectures (Optical, Packet, TDM) and vendor platforms (e.g., Cisco IOS-XE/XR, Juniper, Arista).

  • Advanced Education: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • NMC Familiarity: Experience with NMC operations, including ticket worklog entries and alarm attributes.

  • System Architecture: The ability to interpret and optimize existing automation workflows to solve complex user issues.

Global Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of staying in sync with distributed technical teams across different time zones.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
