As an Infrastructure Engineering Senior Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of Cigna’s enterprise network and security environment. You will provide operational leadership, vendor oversight, and hands-on technical expertise to drive rapid resolution of high-impact security issues. This role is ideal for a seasoned infrastructure professional who thrives in complex environments, values collaboration, and is motivated by protecting critical business operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead tier II operational support for enterprise network security systems, with a primary focus on Web Proxy and perimeter security technologies.
- Drive complex security problem determination and resolution through structured troubleshooting and effective coordination with internal teams and external vendors.
- Provide operational leadership during high-severity security incidents, including crisis management and root cause analysis, to restore services and prevent recurrence.
- Oversee and manage vendor performance to ensure consistent service delivery, responsiveness, and adherence to SLAs and security improvement initiatives.
- Support and optimize security platforms including McAfee Web Gateway, Symantec Bluecoat, and Zscaler environments.
- Implement and maintain security policies, providing consultation and operational support for projects requiring network security expertise.
- Plan, review, and oversee security-related change activities in partnership with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor enterprise security posture, identify risks and exposures, and recommend corrective actions to strengthen controls and reduce future incidents.
- Ensure operational security procedures are consistently followed to protect information systems, programs, and data.
- Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule and respond to high-impact incidents as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Web Proxy and perimeter security technologies in a large enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies: McAfee Web Gateway, Zscaler, and Symantec Bluecoat.
- Demonstrated experience with IDS/IPS technologies and security protocol implementations.
- Strong working knowledge of network troubleshooting and monitoring tools such as SyslogNG, SevOne, Splunk, tcpdump, and QRadar.
- Proven experience leading incident response, crisis management, and root cause analysis efforts.
- Ability to prioritize and execute effectively in high-pressure, 24x7 operational environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts in a clear, user-friendly manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise networks within regulated industries, such as healthcare.
- Experience providing operational leadership and vendor oversight for managed security services.
- Strong customer service orientation and a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
- High level of self-motivation, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement.
