Role Scope
The Senior Manager – Strategy & Business Transformation will play a central role in shaping and driving JJIM India’s strategic agenda. The role combines strategic thought partnership to Country Leadership with hands‑on program management of priority initiatives.
The incumbent will lead commercial strategy development, business insights generation, and transformation projects for JJIM India (75% responsibility). In addition, the role will support the South East Asia & India (SEAI) Cluster (25% responsibility) on Haematology portfolio strategy, harmonizing insights, dashboards, and execution frameworks across the cluster.
Key Responsibilities
India – Strategy & Business Transformation (75%)
Strategic planning, projects and execution excellence
Lead strategic planning and forecasting processes, coordinating inputs to Long-range and annual Business Plans and Forecasting Updates working closely with commercial and finance stakeholders
Liaise between cluster/regional teams through forecasting cycles to enable forecasting robustness and transparency
Lead end-to-end cross-functional strategic projects and initiatives/PMO for priority business programs - set the workplan, governance cadence, milestones, risk/issue management, and drive an execution rhythm to closure
Competitive insights and analytics
Institutionalize competitive insights and market-trend data flows, building simple dashboards/executive-ready readouts that convert external signals into clear implications for India strategy and priorities
Business vision and transformation
Support franchise/brand‑level vision setting for the IM India business across evolving competitive landscape, evolving GTM needs, launch-readiness architecture, and pipeline preparedness
Support commercial teams in business case development for new initiatives across brand launches and indication expansion
Strengthen brand planning for key assets to align with the overall IM India strategy
Supporting affordability and access strategy
Partner with Market Access and Commercial teams to enable robust pricing strategies through therapy-level affordability, care-seeking and competitive insights
Strategic narrative and stakeholder management
Influence and align senior internal stakeholders across Commercial/Medical/Access/Finance/Regulatory to secure decisions, manage trade-offs, and keep delivery on track
Work closely with Country Leadership Team to craft a compelling ‘J&J IM India Narrative’ to engage with above-country stakeholders across Global, AP region and SEAI cluster
SEAI Cluster – Hematology Strategic Planning (25%)
Cluster strategy support
Support SEAI Strategy/CE and TA teams to on Hematology portfolio strategy by aligning regional priorities with country realities - synthesize external insights (e.g., IQVIA) and competitive moves into cluster‑level options and recommendations
Business insights and analytics for Hematology
Build and maintain performance dashboards and governance frameworks for Hematology across SEA & India, enabling consistent KPIs and action planning
Support cluster Business Planning, Review and forecasting for in‑market and pipeline Hematology assets
Qualification and Experience
Required
Education: Bachelor’s degree (Business / Finance / Science or equivalent)
Experience: 2–5 years of experience in strategy / strategy consulting / leadership advisory, ideally with a top‑tier management/strategy consulting firm (or equivalent in-house strategy/CEO office role with similar rigor)
Advanced Excel: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including building complex models and working with large data sets to support planning/forecasting, scenario analysis, and insights generation
Advanced PowerPoint: Expert proficiency in PowerPoint, with strong ability to synthesize market/company data into crisp, executive-ready stories and presentations
Analytical & structured problem-solving: Demonstrated ability to synthesize and interpret data into actionable recommendations, with high curiosity and a self-starter mindset
Stakeholder management & influence: Proven experience partnering with and influencing senior stakeholders, and working collaboratively across functions/markets to drive decisions and execution.
Preferred
MBA / Post‑graduate management qualification preferred, not required
Exposure to business planning / forecasting cycles (e.g., annual plans, long-range planning) and performance review cadences
Experience with business insights / analytics and external data sources (e.g., IQVIA); comfort with data visualization tools such as Tableau / Power BI
Prior experience in/with pharma/healthcare commercial strategy and market dynamics (competitive landscape, policy, access environment)
