Job Summary

As a Design Engineer, you will design, develop, build, and implement new components, products, or technologies that will help deliver high‑quality solutions for our customers. You’ll collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and supply partners to translate functional requirements into detailed designs, support prototype build and validation and contribute to technical reports and cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design concepts for cab electrical harness during new product introduction or current for production maintenance projects
  • Local engineering Support during Stop to Fix, Certified Build, Eng Change implementations, etc.
  • Follow up deviations required by engineering.
  • Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action Analysis.
  • Support Concurrent Process and Product Development meetings.
  • Create engineering change prints.
  • Cost Reduction Projects that simplify design and facilitate manufacturing.
  • New Product Introduction Support for projects assigned.
  • Support suppliers in case of design-related questions.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accredited Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Electrical (degree required). 
  • Strong working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) or engineering software (Required)
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning knowledge (desired)
  • SolidWorks or CREO experience.
  • Harness Modeling experience.
  • Advanced English.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Analytical thinking and structured problem solving (define the issue, compare alternatives, interpret patterns, draw conclusions).
  • Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) & engineering drafting (generate part specifications, create 2D/3D views, perform routine drawing updates, reuse standard libraries).
  • Product design for manufacturing (DFM mindset): collect and analyze customer/market requirements, apply design methods, support design refinement through testing feedback.
  • Product design & development fundamentals (modeling, requirements communication, evaluation of production alternatives, prototype support).
  • Effective communication (clear writing and presentations; uses appropriate technical language for the audience; receptive to feedback).
  • Managing multiple priorities while progressing both day‑to‑day and project work.
  • Technical excellence: apply technical standards/procedures and provide sound solutions to routine engineering challenges.

Additional information:

  • This position will be in Santa Maria Office, Monterrey NL.
  • This position is five days a week subject to changes and willingness to work sporadically on weekends.
