Job Description:
As a Content Developer supporting the SWA University Learning Development Team, you’ll design and develop engaging, high‑quality learning solutions that equip Employees with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. You’ll collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts and key stakeholders to ensure training materials are accurate, visually appealing, and tailored to each audience’s needs. By applying strong time management and quality‑assurance practices, you’ll deliver timely, scalable learning experiences that improve Employee performance and help the Team meet its strategic goals.

- Develops effective and engaging learning content using industry-leading development tools.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining all learning material for a specific Customer, and can include online learning, classroom curriculum, job aids, simulations, graphics and performance support tools.
- Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to gather project requirements and ensure the accuracy of the content.
- Plan and estimate project timelines prior to starting their work.
- Build and strengthen relationships with internal and external Southwest University Customers to understand the target audience’s needs, what they value, and what works best for them.
- Balance multiple projects at a time to scope projects effectively, meet milestones and target timelines
- Provide support and fosters collaboration among Team Members, ensuring seamless project execution and achieving collective success
- Develop in an agile environment and stay adaptable to change.
- Conduct quality assurance and testing of the learning content they create. They review the content for accuracy, functionality, and visual appeal, ensuring it meets the established standards and guidelines. They may also conduct user or field testing to gather feedback from stakeholders to make improvements and refinements.
- Design assessments and evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of the learning experiences.
- Create storyboards, prototypes, and mockups to visualize and communicate the Learning Experience.
- Knowledge of e-Learning authoring tools, such as Articulate 360, RISE, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia and other Adobe tools for authoring Instructor and Learner guides.
- Understanding of efficient development practices including the ability to build content that can be easily sustained over time.
- Time Management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Subject Matter Experts, Project Managers, and other stakeholders
- Ability to write and edit clear, concise and engaging content.
- Should be able to quickly understand and interpret the requirements and direction provided by others, actively participate in discussions, and communicate their project plans clearly.
- Ability to take direction and leverage constructive feedback, enhancing collaboration and driving successful project outcomes.
- Ability to host meetings, showcase content, and address questions professionally and effectively.
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Required: Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
Learning and development practices
Writing and editing content for digital and or print
Preferred: Storyline experience
Preferred: Rise experience
Preferred: InDesign experience
Preferred: Instructional design experience
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits
Competitive market salary from $73,600 per year to $81,800 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
