Title: Service Operations Coordinator

Required Position Locations: Alameda, California OR Charleston, South Carolina
Key Accountabilities:
- Coordinate project field work activities and oversee the completion of US Government Contract project ensuring project goals are met
- Follow up on customer open items/requests with the appropriate personnel in the US and/or Germany
- Provide input to LES Service Managers regarding timeframe requirements, staffing, sub-contractor service provider selection and other resources necessary for project implementation
- Assist Program Management, Finance, and Purchasing to negotiate supplier contracts and meet required delivery schedules.
- Coordinate, track and process labor summaries, parts, tooling, and accounting reports for the Large Engine Services team and prepare Work Order invoices
- Assist Program Management with operation, maintenance, and repair of engines to ensure that parts, engines and equipment are installed and functioning according to MTU America specifications
- Provide technical assistance and feedback to RRSA America technicians and engineers on customer problems and requests
- Provide financial data and analysis, revenue projections and controlling reporting support
- Generate parts and service quotes to review with management team and assist with service estimates
- Oversee LES warranty requests and policy review, administration, part returns for failure analysis, fast field reports (FFRs) and FiRe platforms
- Review and Assist Service Managers in the writing of project reports.
- Process and track Internal Order Requests
- Maintain inventory of special tools and parts, and track their location in the field
- Represent MTU America in meetings with customers and vendors
- Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct
- Perform special assignments as required
Basic Requirements:
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
- U.S. Citizenship required as this position could be working under a government contract
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or Business Administration, or Automotive Engineering or related field and 3 years of field service or service project coordination, failure analysis or service engineering experience with internal combustion engines; or 7 years of field service or service project coordination, failure analysis or service engineering experience with internal combustion engines
- Willingness to travel, domestic and international (up to 70% possible but will vary based on current projects)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good ability to cope with frequent schedule and priority changes
- Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
- Proficiency with SAP, MS5, PS3, PAS, C4S
- Knowledge of MTU products and processes
- Knowledge of Marine Diesel Engines, associated products, and Marine policies and procedures
- Experience organizing complex repairs in the marine industry, involving many subcontractors
