Role Summary
The Cigna Group has an exciting opportunity for a strategic and motivated communications professional to join our Enterprise Communications team. This role will lead the development and execution of the executive communications strategy for the company’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Enterprise Clinical organization. Responsibilities include building and delivering a comprehensive communications plan that supports the CMO’s leadership voice and advances Clinical communications across both the function and the broader enterprise; driving understanding and alignment around the Clinical strategy; nurturing a strong, connected Clinical culture; and elevating the impact and visibility of the Clinical organization internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop executive communications strategy, platform and execute plans for The Cigna Group’s CMO and the Clinical organization.
· Lead and develop a wide variety of executive communications such as speeches, presentations, conference materials, briefings, leadership messages, town hall meetings, organizational announcements, and intranet content, among others.
· Collaborate with the Media Relations team on communication efforts and plans (media opportunities, conferences, etc.).
· Prepare, manage, and deliver large-scale communication programs for Clinical projects.
· Ensure all communications and materials are consistent with the brand and culture.
· Monitor and evaluate results of communications programs, using specific metrics to track progress and insights for continuous improvement.
Ideal candidates will offer:
· 10+ years of communications experience, preferably in global corporations.
· Experience in the health care industry, with a particular focus on clinical communications.
· Strong writing skills across a variety of channels and audiences.
· Comfort and competence in interacting with C-level executives.
· Media and PR experience.
· Agility in working in a matrixed organization model.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications or related discipline.
· Strong creative skills, including with visual communications.
· Record of success handling multiple projects and ability to tie results to strategic business objectives.
· Proven analytical skills.
· Influence and coordination skills to work with other internal areas and outside vendors to meet deadlines.
· Creative judgment and strong communication skills.
· Tact and discretion to work with employees and leaders at all levels.
· Ability to work from The Cigna Group office 3 days a week.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
