Summary of the Role
The Digital Lead, Canada Business Partner is responsible for the overall digital strategy definition for Sanofi’s Canada Commercial scope. This is the face of the Digital organization and the single point of entry to the Digital organization for all Canada Business Leadership Team (LT) members. The Digital Lead, Canada Business Partner’s mission is to enable business growth and transformation through best-in-class leading digital innovation and strong operational excellence, enabling customers, patients, strategic accounts to have meaningful and positive interaction with Sanofi’s medicines and services.
Working hand in hand with Canada Business Unit (BU) teams, including the leads of the three Canada Business Units (BUs) - Vaccines, GenMed and Specialty Care, and all other BU Canada.
The Digital Lead will define their Digital priorities, identify new digital opportunities that enable growth, prioritize digital initiatives, ensure consistency, scalability and value delivery across all digital initiatives, and act as a change catalyst as well as a digital business thought leader for Canada’s leadership teams.
The incumbent will work closely with Canada BU teams, including all Franchises, Sales and Transformation Teams, GTMC teams, as well as with all teams across Digital organization, (Digital North America and especially DNA Delivery, global Product lines, Data & Digital Markets teams under Digital GBUs, Accelerator, Strategy & operations, Digital Tech, Architecture, Cybersecurity, etc.).
Main responsibilities:
Responsible for Canada digital strategy, aligned with business priorities and the rapidly changing ecosystem:
Business Growth Focus: Ensuring digital strategies align with business growth objectives and customer/patient needs.
Unified Strategy: Creating a coherent digital strategy for all three Canada BUs with measurable positive outcomes.
Prioritization: Ruthlessly prioritizing initiatives to align with business unit strategies.
Consistency in Execution: Ensuring best-in-class adoption, usage, and delivery of digital initiatives
Global Alignment: Fostering adherence to global digital strategies, platforms, and infrastructure
Agile Support: Providing timely Agile digital support for vaccine pre-launch and launch activities.
Tool Alignment: Ensuring tools are aligned to drive incremental customer value.
Best Practices: Driving the adoption of good practices to maximize digital asset value and minimize risks.
Digital Upskilling: Acting as a catalyst for digital upskilling with a focus on Data and AI.
Competitive Insights: Monitoring and integrating insights from the competitive landscape to shape strategy.
Budget Management: Preparing and tracking the annual budget for Digital Canada.
Responsibilities for Canada digital:
Be a member of Digital North America Leadership Team as well as a standing member of all three Canada BU LT teams.
Foster cross-functional work and close collaboration between teams (Canada BU teams, Digital, GTMC, etc.) and drive structured ways of working between teams to provide maximum value and efficiency to business teams.
Interact closely with the head of Digital North America, your peers the Digital head of North America Vaccines, Digital head of North America GenMed and the Digital head North America Specialty Care (SPC).
Interact closely with the North American Delivery Manager to whom two delivery resources report.
Establish and contribute to efficient governance driving fast decisions at the right level based on TRT framework, focused on impact and value creation.
Work closely and constructively with other teams e.g. global product line owners, global service line owners, cybersecurity, Accelerator, whether inside or outside the company.
Drive clarity on business leadership roles related to digital initiatives within the GBU, ensuring remit and oversight of full digital portfolio for your scope.
Setup and lead a digital-champion network to accelerate digital transformation.
Prepare the annual budget exercise and regular budget reviews throughout the year.
Beyond Canada, the Digital Lead will play an active role in shaping and executing the North America Digital strategy. This includes co-leading demand intake and prioritization processes, contributing to executive-level engagements (ExCom, Digital Boards), and driving cross-border initiatives that align with Sanofi’s global digital ambition. The role will also serve as a strategic connector between Canadian BUs and U.S.-based Centers of Excellence, ensuring harmonization, scalability, and innovation across the region.
About You
Basic Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Advanced Scientific, Business, Marketing, or related discipline is required
Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience in the Pharma commercial industry.
Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience in Senior Stakeholder management.
Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in Business Case & Value Realization Tracking.
Proven experience of developing and delivering Digital business strategy is a plus.
Technical & Soft skills:
Leader with outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Ability to build trustful relationships.
Possesses a particularly strong business acumen, combined with strong understanding of digital.
Demonstrating a positive result orientation, problem solving attitude & a “getting things done” mentality.
Ability to clearly prioritize and explain prioritization according to facts and data.
Diverse experience in different geographical and cultural settings is preferred.
Successful management of large digital and technology initiatives.
Successful at building a culture of performance and accountability.
Experience in applying Agile Practices.
Team player with great interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and confident demeanor.
Ability to both “think big” and manage the details to ensure impactful execution.
