Summary of Role

Palmetto's device data and performance platform is the system of record for how we track, understand, and optimize the performance of hundreds of thousands of solar, battery, and emerging clean energy assets in the field. As the Senior Product Manager for Device Data & Performance, you will own the strategic direction of a platform that sits at the center of Palmetto's operations, serving internal business units, field technicians, OEM partners, financial stakeholders, and homeowners.

This is a uniquely cross-functional role. You will define how Palmetto connects with hardware manufacturers through integration partnerships, shape the data models that power performance monitoring and alerting, and build the workflows that enable our field service and asset management teams to act on what the data reveals. You will need equal parts strategic vision, strong execution instincts, and the curiosity to go deep on hardware — from the solar inverters and batteries we monitor today to the HVAC systems and other energy-efficient assets we are expanding into tomorrow.

Palmetto's device data and performance platform is still being shaped. You will not be inheriting a finished product — you will be defining what it becomes. That means real ownership, real ambiguity, and a real opportunity to build something that matters at the core of Palmetto's clean energy mission.

You'll collaborate across Asset Management, Field Service, Operations, Customer Support, Finance, and Engineering — making this one of the most relationship-intensive and high-visibility PM roles at Palmetto. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of data, hardware, and cross-functional influence.

Strategic & Tactical

Data Ingestion & OEM Integration Architecture

• Own the strategy for how Palmetto ingests device data from a diverse and growing portfolio of OEM partners — solar inverters, batteries, HVAC systems, and emerging asset types — understanding that no two manufacturers deliver data the same way.
• Develop deep fluency in push vs. pull integration patterns and define when each is appropriate — whether that means polling a manufacturer API on a schedule, receiving real-time webhooks, or negotiating direct data feed agreements that give Palmetto better signal fidelity.
• Lead integration negotiations alongside legal and business stakeholders, shaping data access terms, rate limits, signal coverage, and SLA commitments that maximize what the platform can do downstream.
• Build a scalable integration framework that makes onboarding new OEMs repeatable and efficient — reducing the one-off engineering effort that comes with each new hardware partnership.
