We are currently hiring for the position of Lead Auto Unloader.

Job Summary:
As an Unload/Auto Handler, you will be responsible for safe and quality handling of customer and company property, specifically, movement of vehicles on/off railroad equipment. This position works outside in all types of weather, driving, and unloading vehicles to and from rail cars. If you like a fast-paced, physical position that gets you up and moving, then this is for you.

Unload/Auto Handler:

Pay: $18.50

Attendance:

  • Arrive before the rest of the team daily and make sure cars are lined up to work.
  • Schedule will vary based on the needs of the operations.

 

Quality Control:

  • Ensure that incoming and outgoing cargo is inspected accurately for damage and that any issues are promptly reported.
  • Make sure tracks are protected.

 

Record Keeping:

  • Send email to make sure all cars are in the track as they are physically.
  • Send email and make the call to release all cars that have been unloaded.

 

Safety Management:

  • Perform job/safety briefing with the team members daily.

 

Inventory:

  • Make sure the inventory is showing the right location.
  • Make sure real time inventory is performed as we unload and park VINS.

 

Physical Involvement:

  • Work with the team to get Auto Racks setup, inspected and grounded for unloading.
  • Make sure the auto racks are secured and ready to release.

 

Labor Planning:

  • Help Terminal Manager with labor planning and needs for the week.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess the ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles, including oversized vehicles.
  • Ability to work in tight and narrow spaces.
  • Possess valid driver’s license
  • Ability to maintain eRail certification credentials as required by the railroad.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with a variety of individuals.
  • Be able to work in all outdoor conditions including (rain, snow, ice, heat, wind, cold, etc.).
  • May need to travel throughout the yard/facility by walking or driving.
  • Must be able to physically bend, squat, lean, and move plates to span rail cars.
  • Must be able to see and hear moving equipment.
