SAP COE Centre of Excellence - Automation Tester Specialist

The SAP Automation Test Specialist is a critical role within the GBS SAP COE, responsible for ensuring the stability and quality of our S/4HANA digital core. You will lead the transition from manual to "Automation-First" testing, ensuring that monthly sustain updates and quarterly innovation releases are deployed with zero defects. You will work in a mirrored partnership with ITS technical leads to build a robust, scalable regression suite. Additionally responsible to build, maintain & execute Test Automation for SAP Platform using TOSCA & other open source automation tools

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain & execute automated test solutions using Tricentis Tosca across SAP, Web, API, Mobile and other packaged applications, using modular reusable and data-driven approaches.
• Develop and scale automation frameworks aligned with enterprise standards.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines, to support continuous testing, distributed execution, and reporting.
• Define and execute end-to-end test strategies covering front-end, back-end, APIs, Mobile, SAP and other packaged application landscapes, with a focus on risk-based coverage and quality outcomes.
• Troubleshoot automation issues, optimize execution, and support test monitoring and KPIs.
• Collaborate with test managers, business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to align automation activities with project goals and delivery timelines.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and promote automation best practices across teams.
• Define automation architecture and governance, including standards, design patterns, tooling strategy, feasibility analysis, and ROI evaluation.
• Lead or support advanced Tosca capabilities such as Test Data Service (TDS), BI Testing, Distributed Execution, and integration with test, project and lifecycle management tools.

Secondary Skills

• Coordinate with FME ITS & Business teams to identify risk based automation scope
• Help in manual regression test coordination & automated data creation

Qualifications and Experience

• ISTQB Foundation, Agile or any other Advanced Level certification
• Minimum of the following Tricentis certifications: AS1, AS2, TDS1, TDS2, AE1
• Cloud certification

Required professional experience

• 8+ years of hands-on test automation experience with Tricentis Tosca.
• Experience automating Web, APIs/services, and Mobile applications; SAP or packaged applications preferred for senior roles.
• 5+ Years of hands-on experience in automating SAP applications
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of test strategy, requirements traceability, quality gates, and test management.
• Knowledge of BDD/ATDD and continuous testing practices.
• For senior and architect levels - experience designing automation frameworks, defining standards, and scaling automation across multiple teams.
• For architect levels - experience in enterprise automation architecture, governance, KPIs, and performance monitoring.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills in cross-functional, distributed teams.
• Knowledge of other Tricentis products like qTest & Vera integrations are required
