Job Description

Product Line Leader - Strategic Asset Lifecycle Management

Company:

The Boeing Company

Boeing Digital Services is turning aircraft intelligence into decisions that keep fleets earning. We deliver real‑time, aircraft‑specific intelligence across maintenance and flight operations to make aircraft more predictable, cost‑efficient, and available.

Boeing Vancouver is seeking a Product Line Leader - Strategic Asset Lifecycle Management. The position will be based from our Richmond, British Columbia office, and a hybrid work style is offered.

We are looking for a Product Line Leader - Strategic Asset Lifecycle Management to own the P&L and strategic direction for our Strategic Asset Lifecycle Management (SALM) product line. This leader will be the first line manager for product managers and product owners and provide functional leadership for product staff embedded with our software factory and data platform teams. You will combine market and customer insight, commercial accountability, and close partnership with platform and software development to scale solutions for asset‑intensive customers across the aircraft lifecycle.

You will set the strategy for a critical Boeing Digital Services product line that is central to how operators and MROs plan engine maintenance, forecast maintenance and overhaul costs, and make fleet-level tradeoffs. Your leadership will directly improve aircraft availability and protect fleet earnings by delivering decision-grade intelligence and cost-optimized maintenance strategies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Product strategy & portfolio management

  • Own the SALM P&L, business plan, roadmap, pricing, and product portfolio decisions to meet revenue, margin, and growth targets.

  • Define and evolve the product vision, value propositions, solution bundles, and GTM segmentation to capture market opportunities across airlines, lessors, and MRO providers.

  • Continuously evaluate market trends, competitive landscape, regulatory drivers, and new technologies (AI/ML, digital twins, predictive analytics) to prioritize investments.

  • Customer & market engagement

  • Build and maintain direct relationships with strategic customers and partners; validate early concepts and drive customer adoption.

  • Translate operational problems and regulatory requirements into customer‑validated business outcomes and product requirements.

  • Represent SALM externally and internally as a trusted voice for customers and industry insights.

  • Delivery, platform & engineering partnership

  • Lead and align product managers and product owners to deliver integrated solutions that leverage Boeing’s data platform and software factory practices.

  • Provide functional leadership for product contributors embedded in platform and factory teams; ensure platform capabilities (APIs, data models, services) enable SALM roadmaps.

  • Partner with engineering, data science, UX, security, and operations to ensure predictable, high‑quality deliveries and scalable platform integrations.

  • Commercial & financial management

  • Drive pricing strategy, disposal of products/features, revenue forecasting, and margin optimization for the SALM portfolio.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Commercial, and Legal on offers, bids, and strategic deals; enable value‑based selling with measurable customer outcomes.

  • People leadership & organizational development

  • Recruit, coach, and develop product managers and product owners; set clear OKRs, performance metrics, and career paths.

  • Foster a customer‑centric, evidence‑driven product culture emphasizing experimentation, rapid learning, and outcome focus.

  • Improve product processes for discovery, prioritization, release planning, and lifecycle governance.

  • Governance & risk management

  • Ensure product decisions comply with Boeing policies, cybersecurity and data privacy requirements, and aviation industry regulations.

  • Oversee supplier engagements and technical approaches for major components; approve critical architecture tradeoffs for SALM solutions.

  • Skills & competencies

  • Strategic mindset: able to craft long‑term product strategies and translate them into executable roadmaps and measurable outcomes.

  • Commercial acumen: proven experience with pricing, forecasting, contract enablement, and improving product profitability.

  • Customer obsession: strong empathy for airline and MRO operations; ability to validate solutions through direct customer engagement.

  • Cross‑functional influence: effective at aligning engineering, data, UX, sales, and services to deliver complex, integrated solutions.

  • People leadership: track record coaching product talent, scaling teams, and establishing healthy product practices.

  • Data‑driven decision making: comfortable using metrics, analytics, and experimentation to guide priorities.

  • Communication: excellent written and verbal skills; ability to present to executive stakeholders and customers.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years’ experience in product management.

  • 3+ years managing product teams and direct P&L or portfolio responsibility.

  • Experience working with data platforms, SaaS delivery models, and engineering/product teams organized as a software factory or platform org.

  • Sufficient technical fluency to evaluate data models, APIs, architecture tradeoffs, and platform capabilities.
