Job Description

Position Overview

Provide leadership and support for the technical team responsible for maintaining, supporting, and integrating the Oracle Retail Point of Service (XStore) in a 24 x 7 enterprise environment.

Provide timely and effective delivery of technology solutions related to Store Systems while driving innovation, technical strategy, process control and improvement, and IT policy compliance.

Manage a diverse team of associates, consultants, and 3rd-party vendor resources to provide production systems support, team leadership, and business customer relationships.

A Day in the Life

Leadership, Strategy & Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop staff through alignment on critical organizational initiatives as well as coaching and mentoring.
  • Monitor results and provide continuous feedback to associates regarding job performance. Provide feedback on performance and address opportunities for improvement proactively. Ensure compliance to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Able to lead team, manage and administer various complex technologies independently.
  • Be available to handle critical issues during normal hours and after hours as required to ensure continued business operations, system availability, and the achievement of system Service Level Agreements (SLA’S).
  • Defines new procedures, processes, and tools for improving the support of stores to minimize costs and improve system availability for the organization.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and excellence across the organization.
  • Engage with business partners to drive and support the strategic vision by developing plans for optimized use of store systems, reporting and metrics, release delivery processes and resources.
  • Cultivate & maintain business partnerships; consistently provide outstanding customer service.
  • Assist senior IT and business management in developing, executing, and communicating IT-business vision, mission, and goals.
  • Maintain current awareness of strategies and industry best practices for store systems
  • Assist in ensuring timely and effective communication regarding the mapping of IT initiatives to business goals of the IT organization and internal customers.
  • Work with the IT organization and other stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and execute initiatives within the IT and business portfolio.
  • Maintain an understanding of enterprise business initiatives and objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge and expertise of current applicable computing technology industry strategies and technology evolutionary cycles/plans.

Operations and Technical Management

  • Lead IT readiness for new store openings and partner with store operations for launch execution
  • Manage technical support personnel in a 24X7 environment; ensuring that requests and issues are escalated appropriately for visibility, managed, tracked and resolved with a sense of urgency to the satisfaction of stakeholders.
  • Manage team, capabilities and processes for identification and validation of requirements, use cases and definition of functional specifications for technology initiatives
  • Oversee applications development & functional releases for the stores.
  • Plan workloads based on business priorities, scope, budgets, and resource availability.
  • Provide status reporting of resource and project activities 
  • Manage internal and external support processes for business continuity, risk containment and expeditious resolution of issues, including open issues with vendors.
  • Identify opportunities for improved process control and cross-team collaboration.
  • Manage functional and technical configuration changes to ensure effective governance, change control, visibility, and accountability.
  • Manage resources and expenses against approved budgets and identify/implement initiatives for cost containment and profit improvement.
  • Negotiate IT-related services and commodity purchases with vendors and manage vendor relationships. 

Team Development

  • Succession planning and talent management to identify, challenge and groom IT staff for the next level for overall improvement of relevant skills within the Department resource pool.
  • Mentoring and training of team resources in applicable skills, processes, and technologies.
  • Ownership of the work products and deliverables of the team; set appropriate expectations and hold team members accountable for performance.
  • Delegation of work, scheduling, staffing and performance management of team members to ensure alignment of objectives, behaviors and results consistent with business and IT expectations.
  • Day to day supervisory responsibility for technical team members.
  • Act as a leader of the IT organization and partner across the management organization to drive desired outcomes.

You'll Come With

Experience:

  • 5+ years of IT Management experience in the areas of Applications Development, Project Management, leveraging and applying Systems Development Life Cycle methodologies
  • 5+ years of Oracle Retail Point of Service XStore Experience
  • Understanding of Store Systems, capabilities, and technologies including authorization and payment flow

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrate high competency in the planning and execution of various projects; ability to lead multiple concurrent projects and project team members to successful goal achievement.
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplined, high-performing work teams/groups.
  • Demonstrate competency in strategic thinking, technical leadership, and tactical decision-making
  • Ability to effectively manage 3rd party resources, ensuring contractual agreements are in place and commitments are delivered.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks under time constraints and drive results; diplomacy and ability to deal effectively with professionals at all levels
  • Demonstrated competency in driving the development of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems; ability to identify and mitigate risks
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships based on trust and respect
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; able to refine communications as appropriate to target audience; present complex technical concepts to mid-level and senior management within a clear business context

Compensation Range: $115,000.00 - $150,000.00
