Job Title: - Senior QA/QC Engineer (PMC Offshore Project)
KBR Abu Dhabi is currently looking to fill a position of Senior QA/QC Engineer ( PMC role) for an Offshore Project to be based in Client’s Office.
The Senior QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all engineering deliverables for the Offshore CED project comply with client requirements, international codes and standards, contractual obligations, and the project Quality Management System. The role focuses on design quality assurance, engineering reviews, document control coordination, and interface management across multidiscipline offshore engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Management
- Implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) applicable to offshore CED engineering activities.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, client quality requirements, and applicable offshore regulations.
- Develop and manage design QA/QC procedures, checklists, and verification plans.
Engineering Design Quality Control
- Review and monitor quality of conceptual and FEED-level deliverables, including:
- Design Basis & Philosophy
- Concept Selection Reports
- Engineering Studies & Calculations
- Layouts, P&IDs, Plot Plans, and General Arrangements
- Verify multidisciplinary design outputs (Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural, Naval).
- Ensure design inputs, assumptions, and interfaces are properly identified, documented, and approved.
Codes, Standards & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable offshore international standards, such as:
- API, ASME, ASTM
- DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register
- ISO, IEC, NORSOK (as applicable)
- Confirm alignment with client specifications, HSE requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Document & Deliverable Control
- Review and approve engineering documents before issue to client.
- Ensure proper document numbering, revision control, and approval workflows.
- Coordinate with Document Control to maintain QA/QC traceability and audit readiness.
Non-Conformance & Risk Management
- Identify quality issues, deviations, and gaps in engineering deliverables.
- Raise and track NCRs, design observations, and quality comments.
- Support risk assessments, design reviews, and value engineering workshops.
Audits & Reviews
- Participate in internal and external quality audits, design reviews, and client reviews.
- Support stage-gate reviews (Concept Select, FEED readiness, etc.).
- Lead quality lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Interface & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate QA/QC matters with:
- Engineering disciplines
- Project management and planning teams
- Clients and third-party reviewers
- Support seamless interface between engineering, procurement, and future fabrication/installation phases.
Leadership & Mentoring
- Guide and mentor junior QA/QC engineers and discipline engineers on quality requirements.
- Promote a strong quality culture within the offshore engineering team.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, Process, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Naval Architecture preferred).
Experience
- 10+ years of QA/QC or engineering assurance experience in offshore oil & gas projects.
- Proven experience in Concept / CED / FEED phases of offshore projects.
- Strong exposure to EPC or Engineering Consultancy environments.
Certifications (Preferred)
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor
- CSWIP / NDT certifications (advantageous)
- Membership with professional engineering bodies (added advantage)
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of offshore engineering lifecycle and design assurance.
- Knowledge of risk-based design, ALARP principles, and constructability considerations.
- Familiarity with offshore facilities such as:
- Jackets, topsides, subsea systems, pipelines
- Offshore utilities and safety systems
- Excellent document review, reporting, and coordination skills.
