Lead Veterinary Technician
Salary: $24.00 - $28.00
Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital at Creve Coeur is hiring a full-time Lead Technician to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily surgery schedules and surgical case flow
• Ensure appropriate staffing and resources are available for all scheduled procedures
• Identify required diagnostics prior to surgery and coordinate with the Medical Concierge as needed
• Communicate surgical plans, estimates, and expectations directly with clients when appropriate
• Explain procedures, costs, recovery timelines, and post-operative requirements to clients
• Support client decision-making through clear, confident, and consistent communication
• Oversee anesthesia protocols and ensure complia nee with hospital standards
• Ensure proper patient monitoring during anesthesia and recovery
• Support pain management and patient comfort protocols
• Ensure surgical suites are prepared prior to procedures
• Oversee cleaning, maintenance, and sterilization of surgical instruments, packs, and equipment
• Train technicians on surgical procedures, anesthesia protocols, and perioperative patient care
• Provide hands-on coaching and real-time feedback during surgical and anesthesia cases
• Support on-boarding and skill development for technicians new to surgery and anesthesia
Qualifications:
• Advanced knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities
• High attention to detail and patient safety
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
• Strong collaboration skills with doctors, technicians, and management
• Proficiency with Practice Information Management Systems (PIMS}, SmartFlow (or equivalent}, and related clinical software
