This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

What you'll do:

• Build and configure server hardware and firmware for performance & OS QA tests.
• Install and maintain operating systems (Linux and Windows) and required software stacks.
• Deploy, run, and validate industry standard benchmarks and microbenchmarks and custom performance tools (e.g., STREAM, LINPACK).
• Collect, analyze, and interpret performance data; isolate root causes across CPU, memory, I/O, OS, and application layers.
• Tune system, OS, SW stack, and benchmark parameters to achieve target performance and energy efficiency goals.
• Troubleshoot complex cross component issues, reproducing problems and tracking fixes through to resolution.
• Produce clear technical documentation and test reports describing configurations, methodologies, results, and recommended changes.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, software, and product teams to implement and validate performance improvements.

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong hands on experience with server hardware, operating systems, and industry benchmarks.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using analytical and debugging tools.
• Comfortable working with both Linux and Windows environments and remote management tools.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to follow complex interactions across HW, OS, and application layers.

• Good knowledge on any of the OS Certifications (HLK, VMware VIVA/workbench, rhcert, SUSE Yes Cert kit).
• Effective communicator and team player who can work across organizations to reproduce issues and drive solutions.
• Self motivated, detail oriented, and committed to producing repeatable, high quality performance results.

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience :

• B.E/B. Tech/M.E/M. Tech/MCA (Full time) with
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong foundation in server architecture and subsystems (CPU, memory, storage/I/O) and core operating system concepts. Familiarity with energy-efficiency techniques, Java runtimes, virtualization platforms, and database technologies is a plus.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and administer both Linux and Windows server environments, including remote systems via management tools.
Demonstrated experience identifying, analyzing and resolving performance bottlenecks across an enterprise server portfolio.
Comfortable documenting technical findings and producing clear English whitepapers on system configurations, tuning techniques and measurement results.

Must Have :

• Solid knowledge of server subsystems (CPU, memory, storage/I/O) and operating system internals.
• Hands on experience troubleshooting and administering Linux and Windows servers.
• Practical experience identifying and analyzing server performance bottlenecks.
• Proficiency with performance and debugging tools (profilers, OS counters, tracing and related utilities).
• Experience working with remote servers and remote management tools.

Desired skill set :

  • Experience with industry-standard benchmarks (SPEC), specifically SPEC CPU 2017, SPECjbb 2015 and/or SPECpower_ssj 2008.
  • Familiarity with performance microbenchmarks and tools (e.g., STREAM, LINPACK) and workload characterization.
  • Background in capacity planning, benchmark development, or power/performance trade-off analysis.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and apply them to improve performance and energy efficiency.
