About this role

Job Overview

As the Director, Quality & Transformation Engineering for Aladdin Quality Engineering at BlackRock, you will guide a distributed team within a highly regarded financial technology environment. This position is remarkable in both scale and influence. It offers the opportunity to foster innovation and change within Aladdin, BlackRock's investment and operating technology platform. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our engineering practices are world-class, exceptionally efficient, and flawlessly delivered!

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a dispersed group of approximately 250 quality engineers, including a central hub of engineering transformation leaders.

  • Partner with key product leaders and collaborators across multiple businesses to ensure alignment and collaboration.

  • Align our transformation strategy with our platform strategy to ensure our multi-year technology strategy is future-facing, adaptive, and risk-adjusted.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and outstanding quality by applying sophisticated intelligent technology solutions.

  • Drive the successful implementation of engineering initiatives that contend on a global scale.

  • Determine and closely run key performance indicators to ensure magnificent execution of strategic goals.

  • You have a deep understanding of how to build for scale, resilience, and risk management from a client perspective.

Desired Qualifications

  • Significant technical leadership experience in Technology or Financial Services, with a track record of delivering for complex clients.

  • Experience as a leader in both software development and quality engineering, ideally in establishing a culture where quality and stability are foundational principles.

  • Strong intellectual ability and collaborator leadership skills, evidenced by being able to establish credibility and influence with senior leaders throughout the firm.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a multifaceted business environment and continually prioritize to focus on the key issues/topics.

  • Outstanding interpersonal characteristics, reputation, and team orientation, which will enable earning the confidence, dedication, and respect of colleagues.

  • AI proven experience, in the context of driving efficiency, automation, and migrations, is a nice-to-have.
