Overview The Specialty Solutions unit is a complex service rich organization that is a tremendous growth driver for Cardinal Health. We are seeking an experienced solution engineer to join the Specialty IT team to drive the enhancements and maintenance of our existing technology solutions that support the Specialty business. The Specialty pharmaceutical business provides supply chain solutions for drugs used to treat life threatening, chronic, and other complex conditions. A candidate for this job should have a desire to work in an Agile & DevSecOps team that is evolving around next generation cloud-friendly solutions and practices. The role will have the opportunity to work on new technologies, and develop skills as full-stack developer. Some responsibilities include: • Providing technical leadership in developing and maintaining cloud-friendly applications using multiple cloud-based technologies. Previous focus on front-end work is a plus. • Driving automated testing and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (e.g., Concourse, Jenkins) • Working closely with the business product owners and DevSecOps teams to: o Prioritize features in the backlogs o Provide guidance on design and implementation of new technology o Identify special projects and new technologies to align with strategic priorities. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience • Programming and application development experience including one or more of the following technologies: JAVA, JAVA Spring Boot, Angular, Hibernate, Groovy, .NET • Ability and aptitude for cloud-based software development in a team environment • Passion/self-motivation for on-going continuous learning • Excellent oral and written communication skills preferred • Excellent organizational skills preferred What is expected of you and others at this level • Apply comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects • May contribute to the development of policies and procedures • Work on projects of varied scopes and complexity • Practice Agile and DevSecOps methods in a geographically dispersed team • Participate in every stage of the application lifecycle • Maintain environment availability and stability • Participate and contribute to code reviews
