Team/Role Overview

The Spread Product Structurer is responsible for origination, product development and execution of credit transactions for clients. It sits within the Spread Products business and also within Fixed Income Structuring team. Working for the Asia Head of Spread Product Structuring, you will be involved in developing, marketing and executing credit solutions ideas, across all types of institutional and corporate business focusing for Asia ex-Japan clients.

Transactions are expected to span across a wide swathe of Spread Products including CLNs, SPVs, structured credit, illiquid credit, single name private credit, tail risk hedging for clients, etc. You will also work collaboratively alongside other structurers in the broader Fixed Income Structuring team in executing transactions. The role will involve regular interaction with sales, trading and control function teams. A good part of the role involves developing ideas, expanding the boundaries of what is possible through working with trading / sales / control functions. In addition, attention to detail is critical given the focus on understanding complex legal documents.

What you’ll do

  • Originate transactions through product pitches / marketing to the sales force and clients
  • Structure, draft termsheets and lead execution of mandated transactions
  • Lead approval processes of new products and bespoke transactions
  • Be an integral member of a team that will generate product ideas
  • Conduct origination, credit analysis, due diligence etc for private credit transactions
  • Work collaboratively with key partners in Sales, Trading, Private Markets Coverage, Banking, Risk and other control functions

What we’ll need from you

  • Familiarity with pricing of credit derivative and structuring financing trades, highly competent at using spreadsheets, building tools etc.
  • Experience of dealing with legal, regulatory and accounting issues (issues, documents, rules, people etc.) is key for this role
  • Experience of solution type trades is key e.g. SPVs, CLNs, bespoke transactions, securitization etc.
  • Familiarity with credit markets including public credit, private credit, capital stacks (eg AT1, sub-debt etc)
  • A quantitative degree in e.g. mathematics, physics, computer science or economics is preferred.
