This position supports Analog Devices’ Product Stewardship Program through evaluation of materials and substances used to manufacture integrated circuit products and other increasingly complex product lines designed and used by Analog Devices.  This role requires application of chemical, electronic engineering and manufacturing principals and will require development of an expert knowledge base of regional and global regulatory requirements as applied to materials and products used in the electronic industry, focusing on substances and  materials remaining in the finished component or product and management of the team currently providing these services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support and guide the local Product Stewardship team on Customer inquiries as the technical team resource (internal and external) who generates/utilizes industry standard reporting formats regarding product compliance, including generation of IPC 1752 reports for various product types.
  • Develop risk profiles on material groups and products for future substances of concern.
  • Interface and support internal cross-functional groups on substance, material and product compliance reviews and communication of regulatory landscape to aid in Product Stewardship improvement projects.
  • Development of expert knowledge of US and EU-based regulations and industry standards (ex. TSCA, CAL PROP65, RoHS, ELV, REACH, JEDEC Halogen, EU Harmonized Standards and Framework) for continuous program improvements within the team and company.
  • Manage team execution of improvement projects and develop regular lines of communication with stakeholders.
  • Manage supplier engagement and collaborate with Responsible Mineral Sourcing engineer on outreach activities concerning regulatory compliance of materials.
  • Maintain and improve Compliance Database standards for scalable retention and analysis of material and component data.
  • Supports and mentors the team to develop expert technical review of BOMs and technical documentation to validate and document regulatory compliance.
  • Management and support of Test Report process and projects with ability to interpret analytics relative to banned and restricted substances and materials compliance requirements.
  • Utilize Quality Management Continuous Improvement Processes and Approach through documented procedures and identified metrics.
  • Experienced Team management skills to maintain and elevate performance including traditional administrative personnel duties.

Qualifications:

  • Environmental, Chemical, Materials or related Engineering discipline Degree (B.S. at minimum)
  • Ability to perform high-quality detail-oriented work (e.g., interpreting governmental regulations, evaluating environmental attributes of materials and products)
  • Knowledge of Backend IC Assembly processes and materials is a plus.
  • 3-years experience managing a technical team related to materials science, Product Stewardship or related field.
  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional technical communication skills.
