Cloud Engineer

The Opportunity:

Manage, administer, support, and enhance cloud environments, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution. Apply specific functional knowledge, including working and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance, and review or guide activities of more junior employees.  

You Have:

• Experience with Amazon Web Services

• Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux and command-line interfaces, including bash

• Experience programming in Python and Java

• Experience designing and automating the provisioning of cloud resources and infrastructure as code tools, including Terraform and Vault

• Experience with platform-as-a-service technologies, including Kubernetes

• Knowledge of network technologies, including DNS, load balancing, and TL

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience developing and deploying enterprise cloud-native solutions, or 9+ years of experience developing and deploying enterprise cloud-native solutions in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience creating and improving continuous automation across multiple technical stacks

• Experience troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving issues for GitLab CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness

• Experience triaging and resolving issues for both open-source and commercial tools in public cloud environments

• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools

• Experience with Git or GitLab

• Experience applying cloud security principles

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

• Master's degree

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,300.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
