Job Description
Join CircleCI as an engineer who thinks out loud. You'll spend your days solving real problems on our AI team, sharing what you learn with the broader engineering community, and representing CircleCI at key engineering events. This isn't traditional developer relations—it's engineering work that happens to be public.
About the Team
You'll work directly with an Engineering cohort while collaborating with Marketing on timing and reach. Our AI team is your technical home base, where you'll contribute to real features and stay connected to the challenges engineers face daily. You'll have the autonomy to chase interesting problems and the support to amplify your voice.
What You'll Do
Content & Community (50% of your time)
- Write blog posts, tutorials, and analysis that engineers actually want to read
- Build relationships in 3-5 engineering communities where your perspective matters
- Jump on timely industry topics with substantive takes, not hot takes
- Partner with Marketing to coordinate timing without sacrificing authenticity
Events & Representation (25% of your time)
- Actively maintain a pulse on local, national, and international events and conferences relevant to engineering, CI/CD, DevOps, and AI
- Expand CircleCI’s participation in SF-based meetups, industry events, and broader engineering conferences
- Attend weekly events in San Francisco and travel occasionally to other national or international conferences
- Plan and prioritize event participation, providing strategic rationale for which opportunities deliver the most value
- Represent CircleCI authentically at public forums, speaking, presenting, or networking to expand the company’s reach and credibility
Technical Work (25% of your time)
- Contribute to CircleCI's AI team on features that ship to production
- Be the first user of new AI-powered capabilities
- Keep your technical skills sharp and your content grounded in reality
How You'll Work
- Make editorial and event participation decisions independently while staying aligned with team goals
- Represent CircleCI with good judgment in public forums
- Find opportunities and act on them proactively without waiting for permission
Who You Are
- You've shipped production software for 4+ years, with depth in testing, CI/CD, deployment, or reliability engineering
- You write code regularly—whether for work, open source, or personal projects
- Experience speaking at conferences or meetups
- People read what you write because you make complex topics clear and useful
- Your online presence shows
