Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

This is an onsite position in Tampa, FL, Huntsville , or Northern, VA.

 

Job Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Leads process improvement initiatives, collaborates with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and design engineering. Utilizes lean manufacturing principles and advanced engineering techniques to solve complex production challenges. Mentors junior engineers and supports the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the manufacturing environment.

 

Essential Functions

• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to improve them, working broadly from supply chain to business systems to help things run smoothly.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
• Drive DFMA across UAS platforms to improve manufacturability, assembly time, cost, reliability, and serviceability
• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Design and support assembly tooling, fixtures, jigs, and production aids
• Assures product and process quality by designing and implementing testing methods where required.
• Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
• Define and support quality checks, acceptance test procedures, and rework processes
• Troubleshoot build and integration issues on the floor and drive root-cause corrective actions
• Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
• Maintains product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data.
• Collaborate with supply chain on vendor readiness, kitting, and material flow
• Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education / Certifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field required.
• Masters Degree preferred.

Experience

• 9+ years of manufacturing experience
• Defense manufacturing is desired
• Experience using CAD or CAM software
