Job Description:

   

We’re looking for a Platform Lead to own the technical direction, operational health, and continuous improvement of one or more core technology platforms. This role is accountable for platform reliability, standards, and outcomes, while providing hands‑on technical leadership to engineering teams.

You’ll balance hands-on technical credibility with day‑to‑day team leadership, ensuring platforms are stable, secure, automated, and run to agreed standards.

What you’ll do

  • Own the end‑to‑end technical health and operational performance of assigned platforms

  • Define and maintain platform standards, patterns, and supported configurations

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to platform and operations engineers

  • Act as the escalation point for complex technical and operational issues

  • Drive automation, standardisation, and repeatable ways of working

  • Own incident response, root cause analysis, and problem remediation

  • Ensure platforms meet security, governance, and compliance requirements

  • Partner with architecture, security, and delivery teams on platform roadmaps

  • Balance operational stability with platform evolution and improvement

  • Ensure documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures are current

  • Support on‑call operations and major incidents as a senior escalation

What you’ll bring

  • Strong hands‑on experience operating enterprise platforms in production

  • Proven experience in a senior engineer, platform lead, or technical leadership role

  • Strong understanding of operational disciplines (incident, problem, change)(ITIL)

  • Experience setting standards and driving consistency across teams

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, multi‑layer technical issues

  • Strong understanding of security, access control, and governance principles

  • Clear, pragmatic communication and decision‑making skills

  • Ability to influence without direct authority
