Job Description
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Configuration Management Analyst to join our team supporting the Integrated Financial and Acquisition Management System (iFAMS) project for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Configuration Management Analyst will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the configuration management processes for both the operational baseline and enhancement activities of iFAMS. Our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have experience supporting large-scale government IT projects. This position will require you to be able to effectively manage multiple priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity and traceability of all system configurations throughout the project lifecycle. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability and reliability of the iFAMS system while supporting ongoing enhancements and upgrades. The Configuration Management Analyst will work closely with program managers, developers, and operations teams to ensure smooth deployments and maintain system integrity.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans and procedures
Assure compliance with changes to the operational baseline, including change requests involving business rule updates, configuration changes, and code changes
Develop processes and automations so that all configuration, schema, and data changes are properly documented and synchronized between all non-production and production environments.
Participate in release management activities, planning and executing deployment of approved releases.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure proper version control and traceability of all system components.
Participate in scrum and release planning activities.
Support audits and reviews of configuration records.
Ensure compliance with VA, FSC, and iFAMS change and configuration management processes
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of experience in configuration management for large-scale IT projects, preferably in government settings
Advanced knowledge of configuration management tools and processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Desired:
ITIL certification
Experience with Agile project management tools, specifically Agility
Knowledge of Momentum Financials
Experience working in a government environment
