Senior Mobile Engineer (Infrastructure Technical Specialist – Mobile)

     

JOB DESCRIPTION:

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to lead the design, operation, and continuous improvement of our enterprise mobile environment. This role supports a large, global user base and plays a critical part in ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable mobile solutions across Abbott.

You will act as a subject matter expert for mobile platforms, working closely with internal IT teams, the business, and key technology partners.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise mobile solutions for iOS and Android

• Own and manage MDM/MAM platforms such as Microsoft Intune and Workspace ONE

• Ensure stability, availability, performance, and security of mobile environments

• Lead mobile engineering initiatives, including new solutions and platform enhancements

• Define mobile policies, configurations, and security standards

• Support over 100,000+ users globally across multiple Abbott divisions

• Partner with internal teams (Security, Network, Messaging, End‑User Computing)

• Work closely with vendors including Microsoft, Apple, Google, Samsung, and Omnissa

• Produce technical documentation, SOPs, and architecture designs

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers

• Support critical incidents and provide leadership during crisis situations

What We’re Looking For

• 4–8+ years of hands‑on enterprise mobile engineering experience

• Proven experience managing 20,000+ mobile devices in large environments

• Strong expertise in Intune and/or Workspace ONE

• Solid understanding of:

  • iOS and Android platforms

  • Apple Business Manager, Android Enterprise, Samsung Knox

  • Mobile security, access controls, and policy management

• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to non‑technical stakeholders

• Experience working in large, global, enterprise environments

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience
