Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is looking for a Flight Operations Manager (Military Programs) to join our team in Berkeley, MO.

The Flight Operations Manager leads and oversees flight operations activities for Boeing’s military programs at the Berkeley, MO site. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations across Boeing’s military production portfolio, including Vertical Lift (AH-64 and CH-47), Air Dominance (F-15 and F/A-18), and other programs. This position will coordinate with program leadership, engineering, maintenance, and production teams to maintain operational readiness for developmental, test, and production flight activities, implement policy, manage personnel and resources, and serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on flight operations matters.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all onsite flight operations activities, including scheduling, planning, and execution of developmental, production, and test flights across the military production portfolio

  • Oversee flight operations for Vertical Lift (AH-64 and CH-47), Air Dominance (F-15 and F/A-18), and other assigned programs, ensuring consistent application of standards and procedures across platforms

  • Ensure compliance with Boeing, program-specific, DoD, and regulatory flight operations policies, procedures, and safety standards.

  • Develop, update, and maintain flight operations manuals, checklists, and standard operating procedures

  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, quality, life support (ALSS/AFE), training, and program management to support mission objectives and resolve operational issues

  • Serve as the principal liaison with government customers, contractors, and external agencies on flight operations, safety, and regulatory matters

  • Oversee flight crew rostering, qualifications tracking, currency, and records management; manage training and proficiency programs as required

  • Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective action plans, and continuous improvement initiatives related to flight operations

  • Manage operational budgets, resource allocation, and contracts related to flight operations support

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of flight operations staff; establish performance objectives and conduct performance reviews

  • Support test planning activities, emergency response planning, and safety-of-flight determinations

  • Represent Boeing in program reviews, safety boards, and flight readiness reviews

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical area’s related to aviation disciplines or equivalent combination of related training, proficiency and experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Aeronautical field (including Aerospace engineering background, Flight Deck operations, Piloting, Flight Planning (International), Aircraft Dispatch experience, Commercial Airline Operations, Military flight operations)

  • Experience with Federal Aviation or U.S. Government military flight training regulations

  • Technical experience in a combination of aviation safety, systems safety analysis, safety management system, ground test, flight test, aviation operations or test hazard analysis in a commercial and/or military environment

  • Experience managing multiple projects and communication from global, cross-functional stakeholders while balancing impact on business needs

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or advanced flight test programs

  • Experience with flight scheduling, crew management systems, and operational recordkeeping

  • Demonstrated experience managing flight operations teams and programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment

  • Prior military aviation experience (officer or senior enlisted) with operational flight program leadership

  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline

  • Familiarity with DCMA, Navy, or other DoD aviation oversight processes
