The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Intern who can work Part Time (32 hours per week) for a minimum of 10-weeks for the Summer 2026 session! You will have the opportunity to learn about and support a CACI program with the Department of Defense enterprise network modernizations. This position will require you to work 100% in office at our High point, NC location during the entirety of the internship. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians supporting real-world engineering efforts across active IT projects.


Responsibilities:
You will assist an engineering team to design and support network modernization solutions across the project life cycle. You will monitor and oversee the completion of tasks under the direction of a senior Engineer.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • You must minimally be a graduating High School Senior with demonstrated academic achievement and technical aptitude
  • Must currently be enrolled in full-time Undergraduate or Graduate student in a relevant field of study
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance (if applicable to position)
  • Foundational understanding of circuit theory, electrical principles, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, and installation process
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, basic schematics, and floor plans
  • Fundamental understanding of network communications functions and cable infrastructure
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling software
  • Preliminary understanding of mechanics, materials, and manufacturing principles
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Sound oral and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) software applications
  • Ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to travel to other CACI Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
  • Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Desired:

  • Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not required
  • Previous experience with Electrical or Mechanical related Internship

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
