What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Director, Governance, Controls and Finance Operations, the Business Analyst, Finance Operations will support the Director in managing the deliverables for the Audit Committee of the CIBC Board of Directors including the work plan, agendas, co-ordination of deliverables as well as other compliance requirements. The Business Analyst will also provide support to the Senior Manager, Finance Operations in managing the relationship with CIBC’s external auditor, including co-ordination and quarterly board reporting and analysis activities. This role will also support the Director and the broader Finance Governance, Controls and Operations team with supporting other committees, compliance activities and initiatives as required. The role will work closely with the external auditor, SOX team, Finance LOBs, senior executives across the Bank and Corporate Secretary team.

How You’ll Succeed
- Audit Committee - You will support the director with managing the Audit Committee work plan, agendas, materials and annual compliance activities. You have strong organization, planning and time management skills to support the co-ordination of the deliverables for the Audit Committee meetings. You have keen attention to detail and accuracy and demonstrate a proactive approach that will aid you when planning and coordinating the meeting deliverables. You have strong written communication skills that will allow you to communicate effectively with various stakeholders across Finance and the bank.
- External Auditor Coordination - You will perform the initial review of engagement letters to ensure services provided by external auditor are in line with the Scope of Services Policy. You will review external auditor invoices to ensure that invoice amount submitted does not exceed agreed fee per approved engagement letter. You will monitor and track deliverables to external auditors (e.g., walkthrough scheduling, uploading of artifacts, etc.). You will manage the SharePoint site with the external auditor related documents and ensure compliance to Records Management Policy. You will coordinate the onboarding and offboarding of external audit team. You will support analysis of audit fees, expenses, invoice and engagement letter database as required. You will prepare the first draft of the quarterly board committee report for the Scope of Services Policy, including allied documentation updates.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate 1 - 3 years of experience in a relevant business analysis or finance operations role. Any experience supporting audit committees will be considered an asset. In addition, you will possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate a proactive approach. You have a keen eye for detail and a strong willingness to learn and grow.
