A Day in the Life
As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and advancing manufacturing processes with a strong emphasis on automation and continuous improvement. This position offers the opportunity to influence production efficiency, product quality, and innovation across operations.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining, and material handling
- Optimize facility layouts and equipment placement to improve efficiency, safety, and productivity
- Define sequences of operations and develop procedures for fabrication, tooling, and equipment use that impact product performance
- Adapt machine and equipment designs to align with real-world production and factory conditions
- Identify and execute automation opportunities from concept through implementation and production deployment
- Lead or support the transition of manual processes into automated systems to improve throughput and consistency
- Partner with cross-functional teams to build and maintain automation roadmaps aligned to value stream priorities
- Incorporate inspection and testing requirements into production plans to ensure product quality and compliance
- Evaluate equipment and process performance; troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions to address inefficiencies or defects
- Develop and apply statistical process control (SPC) methods and continuous improvement techniques
- Provide technical guidance to product development and engineering teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability
- Ensure all manufacturing processes and procedures comply with regulatory, safety, and quality standards
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience OR
- Advanced Degree with 0 years of related work experience
Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing engineering within regulated industries (medical device, pharma, aerospace, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with automation, robotics, or process optimization
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience transitioning manual processes to automated systems
- Ability to diagnose, repair, and optimize PLC-controlled systems to ensure reliable automation performance
- Experience with CAD software, SolidWorks preferred
- Knowledge of GMP, FDA, or ISO regulatory requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
- Effective collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
